Her departure scene was the saddest yet. Tears, a powerful montage, and a singout within the 30-minute Idol slot.

Poor Gina...

Gina leaving is just wrong. What a classy exit, though. Was there ever a more appropriate song for a farewell performance?
I thought the exact same thing, how sad!

I was actually shocked at her leaving. I guessed the bottom three correctly, but thought it was either going to be Phil or Hayley leaving. Unless a miracle happens and Sanjaya is voted off, they are probably the next two leaving.

Has next week's theme been released?

I posted a video from season 3 when they did a medley of Gloria Estefan songs i.e. Latin music. That is the theme next week and Jennifer Lopez has already been mentioned as the coach.

What about the people who find Sanjaya entertaining? It's American Idol, not imagineer boy Idol. Why does your opinion count for so much?

When enough Americans want Sanjaya to go, he will, plain and simple.

Exactly.

Vote for who you like, and I'll continue to do the same on my end.

I'm glad Gina got the boot. She is to rock-n-roll what K-fed is to hip hop.

And when Haley gets kicked off in a couple of weeks she can always come down to WDW and perform as Belle.

Oh well,
I stopped caring when Rachel Zevita didn't make the top 24.

Latin week is certainly gonna be interesting. Here are my predictions for Latin week.

Top 3
Haley-She can definitely perform sexy Latin music. If she goes with something upbeat and "flirtatious," she will survive
Blake-Blake is pretty versatile, I'm sure he will do well
Jordin-As the youngest of the Three Divas, Jordin could stand out

Middle 2
Melinda-I just don't think her voice suits Latin music
Sanjaya-He will inevitably live another week

Bottom 3
Chris-His pitchy, nasally, inconsistent voice will fail him this week
Lakisha-Latin is just not for Lakisha
Phil (eliminated)-He HAS to go

According to the show's producers, it's Daylight Savings that is the culprit.
TMZ claims Nielsen stats show that the Tuesday performance shows are down about 10 percent compared to last season - from roughly 31 million viewers to 28.

Last Wednesday night's results episode, where Gina Glocksen was sent packing was the least watched episode of the season, according to TV Week.

Producer Nigel Lythgoe blames Daylight Savings Time, according to TMZ, which started three weeks earlier this year.

"Even if we lost 50 percent of our audience, we'd still be in the top three shows in the country," Lythgoe said at a press conference on Monday.

Tears, wild hair and unhealthy songs are banned when China's latest version of "American Idol" goes on the air next month.

"No weirdness, no vulgarity, no low taste," the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television said Friday in a notice to the producers of "Happy Boys Voice," according to the official Xinhua News Agency.

The talent show, to be broadcast beginning May 1, is a sequel to the hugely popular TV contest "Super Girls Voice" in 2005, which drew more than 400 million viewers. The woman who won that contest became a popular singer in China.

However, Xinhua said the competition drew official and public criticism for promoting vulgarity.

"Happy Boys Voice" should include only "healthy and ethically inspiring" songs and avoid scenes of screaming fans or losing contestants in tears," the regulator was quoted as saying.

The show should "maintain a happy atmosphere," SARFT said in the notice to the show's producer, a television station in the central province of Hunan.

It said scenes of wailing and screaming were "low taste."

And in a move that would shock Simon Cowell, the acid-tongued judge of the Fox network's "American Idol," the broadcast watchdog said judges were prohibited "from mocking or humiliating contestants."

Contestants must be at least 18, and Xinhua said "their hairstyles, clothes, fashion accessories, language and manners should be in line with the mainstream values."

Hunan TV President Ouyang Changlin was quoted by Xinhua as saying the station would abide by the rules.

Me too! I'm taking a break from writing a very big research paper to watch the show tonight. Sanjaya better not disappoint (which does he ever?). Of course, I'm also taking a break to be on here right now. Oh well.

Procrastinators UNITE!.....tomorrow:wave:

I'm avoidng work as well. It's not interesting until you start running out of time:lookaroun
