Creative!

I think I was two/three (1990ish) and we probably were at the Contemporary because that was one of our favorites when me and my brother were growing up.

Fun anecdote... so I was kinda rebellious with the whole potty training thing so my mom told me that Mickey wouldn't let me into the park if I was wearing a diaper. It worked. My mom says though that she was worried that I was going to flash one of the cast members at the gate to prove I was wearing big girl underwear. Another fun fact, my parents also learned the location of every bathroom in the park that trip. :animwink:

Creative Parents! I'll have to remember that with my son!

First Trip

Well, my first trip was when I was 2. So 1994, I had my first trip to WDW. I don't remember what hotel I stayed at, but I am pretty sure it was at the Best Western on Intertional Drive, ( they renamed it now ).

I was 7 - it was 1974 :lookaroun. We stayed at the Poly (I swear I will stay there again someday). I remember watching the water pageant from our balcony. I believe I refused to ride HM, but did next time in '76 and loved it.

My first trip was in 1992. I was around 7 months old or so...I've been back atleast 2 times every year of my life...but it averages out to like 3 or 4 a year thanks to some years where I went like 7 or 8 times. It's good living in Florida I guess.

My first trip that I have a significant amount of memory of was when I was three...it was holiday time.

What great stories! I'll add mine.

After years of dreaming and being obsessed from a far I finally got to go to WDW in 2004at age 16 with school. We "performed for the world" in Epcot our second day there and got to do a workshop in mgm/dhs our first. We learned a dance to the Mickey Mouse March as well as recorded our own vocals over scenes from The Hunchback of Notre Dame. The troupe of us made up of choir band and orchestra took over most of the rock and roll building at All Star Music.

It was such a whirlwind tour of the parks though because of our agenda that I really didn't see much of the parks. (especially Magic Kingdom and none of Animal Kingdom) So as my high school graduation present I went back in 2007 (my winter break) and stayed at the Poly.

And now my friend and I are going back in January 2009 as a treat for making it through 5 semesters of college!

Funny. That reminds of how my sister was terrified of Snow White's scary adventure. Whenever she would start to misbehave my parents would tell her that if she did not stop they were going to leave her on that ride.

Reading everyone's posts brings back memories for me as well. The only two things that horrified me were the little drop in Pirates and the turtle in the electrical parade. I remember hoping that the turtle would not get too close to me.

My clearest memory was being in Epcot for opening week. I was eight and I remember being so excited about seeing a whole new park. I loved it from the start. I was a very curious kid and so I enjoyed the science fair atmosphere that was there.

Snow White

Its funny, some of you mention being scared of Snow White's ride...
... My sister and I (two years apart) we're terrified of the ride, but our parents would have us ride it. We'd cover our eyes through the whole ride...but we LOVED Haunted Mansion! At age 7 we'd rather ride the Haunted Mansion than Snow White.

I love reading all of these stories! Hard to believe that Epcot was just opening up less than 30 years ago, but it's always been there and so has MGM since I started going!

1970, I was 6 years old. We used to live in Granada Hills CA and Disneyland was just a drive to Anahiem. I was scared to death of PoC and would cover my eyes. I thought the pirates were real. I did not go to WDW until 1984. When I was in college. I remember from that trip "EPCOT CENTER" just blew me away!!!

I was 1, summer of 1983! Don't remember much, but I did when we went back in 1989. I remember thinking I was really flying over London on Peter Pan's Flight. I still love that ride. I also miss Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, I thought the train was for real too!:hammer:

I was six in 1990. I don't remember where we stayed though. I remember being scared to DEATH on Mr. Toad's Wild Ride so forgive me for not sharing the same nostalgic feelings towards it as the rest of you XD

My first trip was in 1982 and I was 9 years old...:lookaroun
That trip lives so vividly in my mind, it was like a switch went off in my head and I haven't been the same since then! (In a good Disney sort of way!)
We stayed at the Polynesian and for 8 days we ran around The Magic Kingdom and Epcot and had such an amazing time. I remember being super in shock at dinner one evening, someone said something about being in Florida and I was so confused because I really believed we were in Walt Disney World! What a geek! I can't believe I really thought that but hey it was 1982, we were a lot more innocent as 9 year olds! My neices are 8 and 10 and they are waaaayyyy cooler now than I ever was!

My first trip to WDW was July 1986 (I don't remember where we stayed, but my parents had this hideous black rental car with ugly blood red seats...I remember how hot it was, and how we couldn't find it in the MK parking lot after literally 2 hours of walking around looking!), I was almost 6. I remember a lot from that trip...my whole family (mom, dad, brother, sister, and I) have been back together only twice, in 2001 and 2004 (although we're planning a big trip for July 2009). I've been back more than 35 times, though, with various combinations of family members and friends.

For DL, it was July 2002 (stayed at Paradise Pier). I've been back in 2003 (Embassy Suites), 2005 (Grand Californian), and 2006 (DLH).

First trip to DLP was in January 2005, haven't been back yet. My brother and I stayed at a Hotel Kyriad that was considered the equivalent of a "Good Neighbor" hotel.
