I'm just curious how old everyone was the first time they experienced a trip to a Disney Park (WDW or Land), Cruises, or an overseas (from the US) Disney?
List your age, which park and the year if you remember:

I was 7, 1995 and went to WDW. Stayed outside of the resorts.

My first trip to a Disney park (WDW) was in March 2001 when I was 22 years old. I stayed off-site. I think having to wait so long to be able to go (paying my own way) has made me love it even more than if I went often as a child, so now in October I will be taking my 7th trip in 7 years!!

I was about 6 when I first made it to Tokyo DL. My father was stationed at an Air Force base in Japan and we went. I remember at the time the only princess that spoke english was Sleeping Beauty. Looking back at the home videos I want to say it was the year of Donald Duck's birthday.

I was 10 years old. It was 1978. We stayed of site because the on site resorts cost $85/night. Can you imagine having to pay that much.:ROFLOL: I can still remember the long line of traffic leading up to the MK parking lot (MK was the only park at that time). I can also remember how sad I was when we left. I was hooked from the word go. 2 years later we went for the opening of Epcot. I only went one more time when I was a kid. Then in 1993 being my wife and I took our kids. They were 5. We stayed off site. In 1994 a dream came true when we stayed at the Contemporary Resort. We have gone at least once every year since. Usually staying on the resort. I can't believe it has already been 30 years. Yikes

My first trip was 1978 when I was 3 years old but my sisters were 5 and 14 and my brother was 13 so I'm sure I was just along for the ride!

1987, I was 4 years old, stayed at the Contemporary.

I was just telling friends of mine who are expecting that 4 is the perfect "first trip" age. Or at least any time after 4.

First trip was 1975 and I was 2-1/2 years old. I wore my Mickey ears constantly day after day when we got home. I don't remember the trip, though.

Next trip was 1978 and I was 5. I remember so much from that trip it's just amazing. My grandma and I rode the monorail together and she was pointing out all the character shaped shrubs (they're not there anymore) and when we went through the contemporary she told me that was a hotel and I was fascinated.

I also remember at the age of 5 stomping out a burning cigarette next to If You Had Wings and telling my parents that I had just saved Disney World! They weren't very impressed! Also I remember parts of IYHW as if I just got off the ride. I was scared to death of the skyway but rode it with my family. Also terrified of 20,000 leagues but my Dad was so into it that he kept me from crying. I really thought I would drown.

It was 1997, and I was 18. I was SO disappointed that the castle was cake-ized that I knew I'd have to come back and see it "normal"

...what an addiction that's turned in to!! :)

It was the summer of 1987 for me, if I remember correctly. So I would have been 11 going on 12. Of course, back then, it was just Magic Kingdom and Epcot Center, and we stayed in some hotel in Orlando...a Holiday Inn I believe, but I'm not sure.

First age visit:

I was 35, 1979, and we went to the Magic Kingdom ( my wife of one year-first marriage for both and still happily married). Since then we have been 17 times with 18 & 19 coming up this year. She created this disney fan by suggesting our first trip. Since then, wow can't get enough.:ROFLOL::sohappy:

First visit was in 1973 at the Magic Kingdom and I was 5 years old. We had just moved to Florida. I remember being terrified of the Haunted Mansion and Snow White's Adventure. I got over my fright of the Haunted Mansion on our next trip but Snow White scared me for quite a bit. I've been more times than I can count since then. I really feel lucky to have had the chance to watch Disney World grow and change in all that time.

My first trip was in 2003 at the age of 43. I have been 6 times since then and am going back Dec. 08. My first ride was Test Track at Epcot. My DH was 45 on his first trip in 2006. My children ages 28 and 24 have yet to experience Disney.:(

I think I was two/three (1990ish) and we probably were at the Contemporary because that was one of our favorites when me and my brother were growing up.

Fun anecdote... so I was kinda rebellious with the whole potty training thing so my mom told me that Mickey wouldn't let me into the park if I was wearing a diaper. It worked. My mom says though that she was worried that I was going to flash one of the cast members at the gate to prove I was wearing big girl underwear. Another fun fact, my parents also learned the location of every bathroom in the park that trip. :animwink:
