Actually, more than that, its the merchandise sales from these new areas. Thats what they will be looking at. Its too difficult for Disney to actually judge who is there just to ride X Y or Z. But if people are buying tons of Avatar or Carsland merch, that means that project was a success.
From my understanding, the NextGen bands are supposed to help with determining who rides what how many times.
Only issue there is that they have nothing to compare it to. NextGen might tell them how many individual people went to Carsland, but what does it matter if they don't know how people reacted to other similar expansions? Plus NextGen might not be around until after Carsland opens and some of the hype starts to wear off. So I suppose, probably for the next few years, merchandise is the only way to gauge the value of an expansion.
Oh yeah... all can be grouped. Doesn't matter it is a major expansion... We have nothing to complain about.
Well...
There's the argument that "This isn't an expansion it's just replacing something that closed 20 years ago." There's also the argument that MK hasn't had a major expansion in a really long time. Almost another 20 years. With that said, I like FLE, and I do think it's an expansion, and I don't feel that MK is in desperate need of an expansion. Still, I can see where these arguments come from.
FLE, though, isn't enough to carry a resort. Pandora should help with that, along with the refurbs that are supposedly coming (Test Track, Big Thunder, Splash Mountain, etc.).
In my opinion, complain all you want. It's your money. If you don't like something, say it. As long as it's a valid argument, which many of the complaints here aren't.
For me, the last couple of months have changed my outlook on WDW. With the announcement of Pandora, which looks to be huge, and the rumors of three major, much needed refurbs, things are looking a whole lot better now than they were three months ago.
