After the Fantasyland expansion, then what?

I feel the same in some respects, but here's the situation as I see them:

1) There are several sections that are simply unimpressive and/or artificially elongated due to budget/rights/etc. These would include, most specifically, the Tarzan scene and the "Horror" scene (which is really just about as generic as it gets). Some put Aliens in this category, but I disagree - I think that section needs some reworking, and also some new animatronics (these break down too frequently), but it's a highlight of the ride personally.

2) There is also quite a bit of wasted space. For example, the really long entry into the gangster scene. The Western scene could be shortened.

3) They could selectively trim and update and then add stuff around them, or they could start from scratch. Something tells me, the latter is what "they" would push for, only because it's easier to gut and rebuild anew than to work out all the logistics of working around the stuff already there. I, of course, would prefer the former.

An additional problem is the extent of licensing/branding/corporate "families", now vs. the 80's when the original ride was constructed. There are several films in there that are not Disney and I think they'd have a harder time getting rights to such things for additional films to include now as opposed to then (i.e., any Universal or Warners films would be excluded due to their current contracting with competitors, etc.). And, let's face it, live action Disney isn't exactly brimming with Oscar winning movie classics.

It's something I'd like to see, done right, but I think I'd side with the 'leave well enough alone' if they were going to drastically rethink it. The one thing I'd like to see rethunk the most, though, would be if they dropped the "soundstage" thing - take me IN to the movies, immerse me...it's the same way I felt about Star Tours 1.0.

The Great Movie Ride needs to be re-worked. First and foremost, the ending film and projectors need to be updated (the film should really be updated more regularly).

For me, the obvious replacement choices are Footlight Parade, Alien and Tarzan. Footlight Parade could be tough just because of how small an area that is, but the other two offer large spaces where any movie could realistically be installed.

I truly believe that MK and maybe WDW as a whole will get the DL 50th treatment. Over the next 10 years we'll see the park gradually spruced up to shine for its 50th birthday. Maybe even that elusive Soarin' over ??? video will surface before then :lookaroun

Well, maybe WDW's 50th will be impressive enough, but before that happens, I think they have to get past Disneyland's 60th! I wonder how they're going to do that.

A ride showcasing FL's landscapes would certainly increase the ride capacity - since the ride film would be about 90 seconds, with a good half that time devoted to a gator scare mid-film. ;)

A ride? No. An experience? Well, it certainly would be awesome in that River Country plot.

Some say LOST is over so why would they, but with such an incredibly rich mythology, it's also screaming for a "secret DHARMA station" for you to explore, spend time in, etc. Heck, even offer an "overnight" package, including your very own DHARMA jumpsuit.

I also think we haven't even begun to hear the last of LOST - everyone swears up and down the show is over, but I have no doubt within the next 5 years some LOST project will show up, so many possibilities with so many characters, the time travel aspect, etc. - probably short form miniseries, etc. I honestly think it's the best IP for the "boutique" park concept they could come up with.

My feelings exactly. I think that LOST has a great mythology and it would be a shame to waste it. The Secret Dharma station sounds cool:sohappy:

PS:Again,sorry for the poor english.:p
