Aersmith replacement?

Many of you are going to hate this idea but if Aerosmith decides to no longer be a part of the attraction I wouldn't mind Disney going generic with the ride. They could change the theme easily to either the Paris version of a music video (and you could have a director in the preshow) or you could just have it as a high speed ride through LA. I really don't think they need to spend alot of money to get a "name" in there. I think Aerosmith fits PERFECTLY but if they aren't an option I really can't think of anybody that would be better.

Now if they wanted to turn it into the Rap 'N' Roller Coaster  why not put Jay Z or the remaining members of Run DMC in there. Heck now that I think about it Run DMC would actually work for Rock too (Just listen to King of Rock, Tricky, Peter Piper, or Rock Box).

i think i would fall asleep on the hotel california rollar coaster. mirrors on the ceiling would ruin that ride.

personally, i think ozzy would reach more people than the eagles. unless you are old enough to say that you have seen them in concert, you are probably not a fan, im 28 and they are a little past my time. the main target audience is like 15-35 i would pressume for rnrc.

This isn't even such a bad idea... Disney could write their own Rock 'n' Roll style soundtrack, which would be even more synchronized to the track (like with the Paris version of Space Mountain).

Beatles Beatles Beatles! I know they're not quite as hard rock as the other bands mentioned, but they've got songs that rock like no other. I doubt Disney would be willing to spend the money to license the songs though. Apparently they are some of the most expensive around. You could take off to Revolution, then into Helter Skelter. It'd be amazing.

I dont know but I sure hope it's a wholesome family type of band. I will be extremely disappointed if they bring a new popular band in that has made a mockery of themselves (Britney, Justin, and on and on)
The Brady Bunch

Why would Aerosmith leave in the first place!?!? They are one of the greatest rock bands of all time and are one of my favorites. I couldn't even think of a good replacement, unless they want to bring the Rolling Stones in.

lol thats great.....

seriously though, whomever suggested no doubt- i think thats a REALLY good one. i'm not even a huge fan, but admit it would work perfectly; good people, good music, and it reaches many people of all age levels: they're popular right now with the younger generation.. but meanwhile their classics are often played on the 'soft and contemporary' type stations.. so it would appeal to the adults as well.

How about Off Kilter?

They can paint everything plaid and ...... whoa just had a flashback to the 70's and the Bay City Rollers.

Never mind. Hopefully Aerosmith will stay!

If they had a lead singer I'd say Van Halen without a doubt, but since they don't....There are dozens of great bands out there. I think No Doubt would be cool. They've got that fun band attitude. I don't think this would ever happen, but it would cool if it did.

P.S. I'd hate it Aerosmith left. Love that band!!

Well, I hope they aren't replaced ...

I would like to see Aerosmith remain on the ride, although it is always nice to see ride upgrades. Here's an idea -- why not use several musical artists? Here's my vision: Each 'audience' meets a different music group (out of five possibilities, for instance) in the introductory video, and that group 'follows' them throughout the ride experience. Think hitchhiking ghosts. The coaster music corresponds to the music group, as does the video shown at the end of the ride.

Most costs would be minimal: Two videos and a couple of songs per artist. I'm not sure how the licensing deal is handled; one would expect it to be beneficial for the bands -- free advertising. And Disney could sell CDs in the adjacent gift shop.

The only substantial cost I foresee would be the organization of the coaster passengers such that someone who viewed the Aerosmith video would always hear the corresponding music, etc.

Edit:
[And no Beatles, please. :P]

THEY CAN NEVER GET RID OF AEROSMITH! That ride is PERFECT the way it is! I was never a "big" Aerosmith fan until that ride! Now I LOVE them! I hate change and can't see any other band replacing them!!!!!! Say it isn't so! :)

If it were to ever happen, Bon Jovi would be the logical choice. However, I wouldn't mind Iron Maiden. In fact, I'd ride it even more because of that.

Other choices:
KISS
Ozzy
Led Zeppelin
Guns N Roses
Van Halen

One can dream...
