No need to poke at me, I can poke back.
Those who cannot support their opinions tend to slander their critics.
You can usually tell things are lost when the debate turns to one word insults...idiot, dumb, pathetic...

Maybe if "Senior Members" didn't act like children. (and probably are) You're pathetic.

Wow someone doesn't know how to take people contradicting him.

Relax dude, this is called a debate, it happens alot on message boards. There is no need to result to direct insults and slander. Just say your piece and be done with it, or if you can't handle someone having an opposing view then maybe you should do us all a favor and not post.

Oops... I didn't mean to imply that YOU were complaining. I just don't get the selfish attitude that seems to be prevelent on the boards lately.... "I don't like it and it shouldn't be there and it's a waste of space.... blah blah blah" Kind of a depressing way to live if you ask me. :veryconfu

Oh, no offense was taken. I was just stating that again.

Well I can see everyone's opinion about this topic and I still find myself in the middle. I realize that the children seem to enjoy the Playground and that's what it is there for. But I also can't help but feel sad about it being there knowing so much more could be in that spot and it wouldn't kill the people at the MK to add something else in Fantasyland that we ALL can enjoy (Philharmagic comes to mind). If Disney wants to create attractions that only kids can enjoy that is fine, but for every Pooh's Playful Spot there should be an Alien Encounter/Timekeeper/Hall of Presidents/Carousel of Progress type of attraction that appeals mainly to adults. That's just my feelings

My biggest pet peeve is that the MK is starting to become less of a family park each and every day and I hope that the changes at PotC and future moves will start to bring the MK back to where it should be.

Sure, but you need to look at height restricted rides versus the playgrounds.

There's many more attractions that a toddler can't ride due to the height restriction than there are playgrounds. Balance is the key. Two playgrounds in Magic Kingdom doesn't seem overkill to me at all.

Very well put!!!:sohappy: :sohappy:

I am in the same boat as you, as much as I dislike a number of changes made in some of the parks in WDW over the years, I don't feel the urge to complain about them cause I know these changes were done for a reason and understand they serve a purpose. No matter how much I dislike a new attraction I can't put it down if it draws in the crowds, or keeps kids happy, etc...

actually, I love debate. There's a difference between debate and someone jabbing sarcastic and rude comments towards you. This isn't political, so why turn it into something that is.

And I work in the Theatrical Dept.

Fair enough. Two playgrounds doesn't seem like overkill to me at all. You can make the argument that 3 spinners is overkill, but if it makes the lines shorter at Dumbo, that's a good thing.

But remember toddlers aren't toddlers for very long. Adults are adults for a LONG time  That audience should never be forgotten at the MK or any Disney park.

Well, my thought, is that for the 50th anniversary of WDW and MK they will build a whole new land there with a big e-ticket and maybe some smaller attractions...

I agree, but it is still my favorite park. PotC, Incredibles, a SM refurb, a HM refurb, and TLF should definitely help.

And if SGE was drawing in crowds and making many kids happy, I probably wouldn't have went to City Hall and complained or talked to managers and complained during this trip. So I think there is a difference in that type of complaint and my complaints over Lights, Motors, Action where I feel it is a boring show that isn't even as good as Residential Street. But it is not something that will ever cause me to say something at the parks about it. But you better believe I will continue to complain about SGE until something worthwhile is put in its place and if that makes me wrong......I don't wanna be right

I saw it as a joking response to a somewhat serious discussion, an attempt to lighten the mood. Like I said just relax, don't take things so seriously. :D

Well, it used to be my favorite park when the New Tomorrowland was there, but now it is definitely 4th on the list. And it is not just the state of Tomorrowland that is the reason either.

However, if those things you mentioned actually happen and they turn out well, the MK won't stay 4th on my list for very long.

Yeah, that's a big problem that MK is having right now. There are very few attractions that appeal to teens. The only rides that really do are BTMR, Splash, and Space Mtn. That's not nearly enough. And adding Stitch and a Monsters Inc. "comedy house" really isn't helping. And I cringe at some of the WDW commercials where it only shows little kids having fun with their parents, and no teens or young adults in a single one of those commercials. That has been a tributing factor over the years that has led to the misconception that WDW is "just for kids."

Oh I know and believe me there should be more things for kids at the MK than at the other parks, but it seems that the MK is only catering to those kids lately.

I think what he meant was that MK shouldn't be geared ONLY towards kids. Much like how MGM has ToT and RnRC.

In the same sense, AE was geared more toward adults and teens, but a few complaints later and they gear it towards children. Which is how the majority of MK is right now.

LMAO I'll have to agree with you there. I have yet to ride SGE, no interest to really. My last few visits I did not see much of a line for SGE at all, which tells me it was not bringing in the crowds they had hoped. They went thru a massive promotion campaign and ended up with minimal results. Yes at first I'm sure the crowds were massive, but now that the hype has cooled down, it doesn't appear the SGE has much reride value. I always thought AE was a far superior attraction but it like SGE was not able to keep a consistant crowd. I guess we can mark SGE up as one of those mistakes, or Disney missing the mark. :p
