Does anyone remember Epcot's "The Living Seas" grand opening TV show hosted by John Ritter?

That show not only got me excited to visit the attraction, but seeing how cool John Ritter looked scuba diving through the tank inspired me to become a certified diver.

That's such a nice story. I don't remember the show, but at least now I know the John Ritter-WDW Connection!

What horrible, horrible news!! I heard it on the radio this morning and about spit out my coffee:( He truly was a talented man. Hilarious in all that he did.

Also, Johnny Cash also passed away this morning. So Long Man In Black:(

Too sad, too sad.

Blood on the Saddle... and tear in our eyes.

John Ritter had another connection to Walt Disney World.... His father was Tex Ritter, the famous Western/Cowboy singer and actor who voiced Big Al in the Country Bear Jamboree, sanging "Blood on the Saddle."

The country music world was also rocked today by the death of Johnny Cash, just a few months after his wife, June Carter Cash, died; and just a week after her final CD was released to critical acclaim. (Her CD, "Wildwood Flower," is great and well worth hearing, by the way.)

So, today not only is there blood on the saddle, but tears in our eyes.

John was fun and will be missed greatly. (As was the case for Tex and Johnny also.) John was just one of those actors who did not seem to carry the huge ego.

:(

It's trully a sad day..... John Ritter was at DCA last weekend part

of the ABC meet and greet and talked about his father Tex Ritter

who was the voice of Big Al ( blood on the saddle) for the Country Bear Jamboriee.

This is almost like a curse, First the Theme Park ..now the Studio.

Oh yeah, now I remember Problem Child! Those were 2 great movies! He had so many good things.

Here is a link to the Living Seas special:
http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0239127/

Just looking at all the shows he did, and he was in some other Disney specials:
Walt Disney World Christmas Day Parade (2002) (TV)
Disney-MGM Studios Theme Park Grand Opening, The (1989) (TV)
Donald Duck's 50th Birthday (1984) (TV)

I am stunned....

We always watch Three's Company reruns at night and loved John in 8 Simple Rules.

Prayers for his family and for those he worked with at ABC.

I wonder if he ever visited the CBJ to hear his father sing, and how it felt?

Hmmm.

When I first saw this today in another thread (Chit Chat) I was stunned...I have always found him funny and so unaffected by his status. Then I heard about Johnny Cash. We seem to be losing so many good people......

This is a sad day. When I saw it on the news this morning, I couldn't believe it. I grew up with Three's Company and 8 Simple Rules was my daughters favorite show. I love the episode when they parodied Three's Company.

www.laughingplace.com has some pictures of his appearance at DCA talking about the upcoming season. How sad for his cast members. It must feel like they lost a family member.
