Actor John Ritter Dead

I'm glad to see the show is continuing. It's sad to see John gone, but I still love the show and still would like to see the remaining characters continue to develop. I also think bringing in a new father figure could be very interesting to the show. I heard mention that Henry Winkler was being considered for the new role and I think he would do a great job. I have a feeling that it won't last long without John, but I think it's worth a try. It would be sad to just cancel a show that has so much promise.

Yeah, no one can fill the space john ritter left, obviously, but I think that if someone is going to be a new central character in the show, it should be someone who knew and loved john as much as the cast of the show, and definitely Henry Winkler fits that. I would think that once the family starts to cope with the situation in the show, Henry Winkler should move into the house as John's father, their grandfather. I think he would be a great addition to the show and would help to stabalize things, obviously henry playing john ritter's character's father we could see the similarities in their characters and have another overprotective figure.

I saw the tribute last night and they are continuing the show with johns wifes support . I was just so sad to see the kids and katey segal crying, the one girl ( blond hair ) had said they all considered john a second dad.. I was crying the whole time. My dh said why are you watching this if you are crying . I said because I want to see what everyone says about him and it was even good to see suzanne sommers and joyce dewitt on there. The sad part was when they all thought it was just food poisoning even john thought it was only food poisioning thats why he didnt go to the hospital right away

Um, yeah I find that to be a great idea, too. But I don't know about Henry Winkler being the father of the character John played. He is pretty much the same age John was. (Henry is like 58, John was 54) They both have children in real life of the same age....and I don't think Henry looks like a guy who would have a 50 year old son, when he is that age himself.

He was originally going to play John's boss on the show....But instead I hope he may play some other family member, maybe an uncle or cousin. But not his father.

I watched the special last night too. Cried through the entire thing. The show was the higest ranked last night. I will miss John.

ok, thanks for the age comparison, i didn't know. Even so, Henry looks older or at least could be made to look a lot older than john, but still, he could make a good uncle or cousin, as long as things don't get too Full House-like, not that i have anything against Full House, I love it, but that's not what should happen to this show. I just thought the father of john ritter's character moving into the house would make the most sense, being that he's old and can't live on his own, and could keep up most of the same personality john's character had. Ohh well, who knows, we'll see and hope for the best. As long as the spirit of John's life is kept up, they'll have a great show.

Yeah, maybe he can just play a part of the family that comes in to help them out through the rough time of losing him... I am glad they are keeping the show for the season...but I can just imagine how hard this will be for the cast members. My prayers are with them.
