British Media is running the story. I like the fact he is taking responsibility unlike your average American who would be suing for millions.

I'm surprised no one has lost any arms on Space Mountain since there are metal poles everywhere close to the riders.

The average American you say?

Looks like the closest metal poles are the handrails. I hope those are not close enough to touch.

Huh ??? Humiliated ??? Somebody please explain to me - exactly WHERE was he wearing his FASTPASS??? : O
I have caught many a guest trying to pull a fast one on me with FP - not enough FPs, half for the wrong time, ALL for the wrong time, one valid FP on top of a stack of non-valid FPs, counterfeit ones, ones from 4 years ago...you name it, I've seen it. Most CMs don't like the fight, but I usually called them out on it and 9 times out of 10, they eventually pulled out the correct FPs (or left the line knowing I wasn't letting them through because I caught them.) once in a while, I'd get a guest who was totally indignant that a little lowly CM like me caught their oh-so-clever scheme. I can TOTALLY see some lunatic fake being overly embarrassed just to be the "winner" in this situation. For some people, it's not a matter of being right or wrong, it's a matter of getting what they want by any means necessary.

You read my mind.

"Just a flesh wound"

Yes, THAT'S the movie for which that sound bite is known. :banghead:

Its just a flesh wound come from one of the best movie's ever made..Monty Python and the Holy Grail. I know because Ive been quoting it for 40 years. lol Now if that vacation movie uses it,it was stolen from Pythin since it was out way earlier.
Sorry for derailing the thread but couldn't let that go by. :)

Well Eric Idle was the chap who said it in European Vacation and he was also a founding member of Monty Python, so I just assumed they were cross referencing that classic scene.

But in this thread I used that quote cause it was his most memorable in European Vacation, and he was referenced by another (very intelligent) poster in this thread.

No disrespect was meant to Monty Python or any of the legends created by them.

"He was around 57 years old. What the medic told me is was he was saying, 'I had my hand on the side of the boat and I shouldn't have. It was all my fault.'" - Bo Jones, Reedy Creek Fire Department

I bet that Disney's legal critters have already gotten Bo's sworn statement to this.

I can't see how any of this is Disney's fault unless the guest's hand is somehow inside the boat at the time of the incident.

On every attraction, ride and sometimes show, you are cautioned to keep your 'arms, feet, hands and legs inside the vehicle at all times.' So I'm going with guest negligence until you can prove to me this is somehow the company's fault.

I agree, but I also bet the guy is gonna get a huge check for his troubles.

Look at all those vertical poles close to the track it passes. If you had your arms out stretched on both sides and leaning slightly outwards either side you would almost definitely hit your hands on them. 2:12 onwards is particularly bad.

I don't think it's impossible, but it does look worse than it actually is (perspective, and all). Otherwise people would be getting fingers chopped off daily. Plenty of people hold their arms up the whole ride.
