I was the sales development coordinator for the CBS affiliate. I put together sales packages and plans for the account executives to sell commercial time to local businesses. For the local PBS station, I am director of public information and community outreach. I am in charge of all marketing, public relations and event planning for the station. A fun job :)

Please tell me you don't do the pledge break stuff. As much as I love PBS I hate pledge break time. (I get very grumpy when "Are you being served" isn't on at 11:00 pm every weeknight!) Lately it seems like it is pledge break time more then it isn't.

Of course I have never donated money, mostly it is because a number of years ago my mother did. When they didn't send her a reciept for her taxes she sent in a copy of the canceld check to prove it and instead of sending her a recpiet, they deposited the copy of the check. How stupid where they (and the bank that actually aceppted it.)

I'm not the one organizing the pledge breaks here, but I will be one of the people on the air pitching. (It seems to be a requirement of the job.) I hate it about as much as people watching do. It is an necessary evil though. With funding being cut from the state and federal government, we are having to rely even more on our viewers.

I must admit that last night was the first time I'd ever seen Monty Python and the Search for the Holy Grail. All of the sudden, the weird references that everyone around me was making now make sense! I don't know how I managed to not see the movie until now, but I now know what it means to have "only a flesh wound" and to "blow my nose in your general direction." I have seen the light. In closing, I say, "Bring me a shrubbery!"

Though I've heard the phrase many times before, I'm afraid I don't really know what "Oh snap" means.:lookaroun

Though I am not completely sure, Ithink it is kinda like "oh darn" or "oh wow", or even possibly "geez!".

And I am getting my interepretations from "that's so raven". so I could be WAY off.

"What is your name?
What is your quest?
What is your favorite colour?

:D A personal vice would be: Monty Python movies one night, Three Stooges the next and A Fish Called Wanda marathon to end it. Along with a case of Coke (soda, not the *sniff*) and pork rinds.

Also: I've been helping my DW make homemade Christmas cards since 1996. :xmas:

Ok, that was me too, except that it was over 15 years ago (now I am aging myself) and it was my older brothers who had quoted it all my life. It all made sense then. That movie is full of qoutes perfect for everday life!

And there was much rejoicing! (we use this one often)
No Singing!
Bring out your dead, Bring out your dead.
I'm not dead, yet. I feel better, I want to go for a walk.
Help Help, I am being repressed!
Come see the violince inherent in the system!

I could go on and on.

:sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy:

BTW you can tell Mrs. PhD wrote this and not Mr. by all the spelling mistakes.

On second thought let's not go to Camolot, it is such a silly place.

I have a bad VHS copy of it around here somewhere, I should get it out.

(but that last thing I need it Little PhD quoting it!)

I watch t.v. just not a lot of it. I do have my two shows I never miss, neither one on PBS or CBS...heck, not even on ABC or NBC  (except when a Laker game is on)

HAHA Christmas Day Lakers vs. Heats...not missing it for anything. Shaq did good last night: 16 points in 21 minutes.

I say the west coast is going to have a victory this year (I'm not saying by the Lakers...they're too young of a team. I just think the Pistons win was a fluke :lookaroun )
