I remember my high school had a bomb threat right after the Columbine tragedy. We all went to the football field for a couple hours while they checked it out. I don't remember a lot about it, just that everyone was scared because there's a series of plant streets across from the school I went to, and the street that's closest is called Columbine. People considered that a "sign". There were a few other similarities like the street thing, but I don't remember what they were now.

That's the only bomb threat that I remember, although we did have a few times that trash cans were set on fire...

The school had three lockdowns in the last school year – two for bomb threats and one for a food fight.

They had a lockdown because of a food fight? :veryconfu Was that their way of punishing the kids...by 'grounding' them?

At least my college seems to be run by actual humans with souls.

Ha! Wish I could say the same about my college. There seems to be two extremes among the faculty at my school. Those who are experts in their field, and those who pretend to know what they're talking about. Those who really care about their students, and those who think teaching is just an easy way to make money.
Are all colleges like this, or is it just mine? I'm hoping it's just mine.

Another thing about me...I tend to go a little overboard with parties. I have enough leftovers to give away & still not have to cook for a few days.

:D I don't but my father does. He cooks at least one pound of mashed potatoes per person per holiday (I am seriously not exaggerating). He also likes to invite lots of people over for holidays. We've had over 20 people over at times. Over 20 people = over 20 lbs. of mashed potatoes. Once, one of my best friends had the misfortune of coming over to my house the day after Thanksgiving and he returned home with a gallon ziplock full of potatoes.

Uhm....no. The food fight in question launched a full scale riot. Police agencies from the surrounding areas needed to be called in. Lil'mermaid was caught in the middle of it. It made the international news wire. Here is a quick blurb, I couldn't find the original article from our paper. One thing you aren't aware of is that the school is located at the intersection on 2 major NY state highways and across the stree from on of the largest outlet malls in the US...

I only cook 10 lbs of potatoes for 16 people on Chirstmas.

Of course, there is soo much food we get to eat for a week & give some away.

We kinda overthrew administration. (Despite them saying they had "compleat control the whole time...they didnt.) I got caught in the food fight and then in the riot that happen outside the cafeteria. I got stuck between a wall, a bench and a table (not a smart place to be while theres a riot). I was smart and bailed when I could and went to one of my classrooms with some others who were smart enough to run down too. A few kids were taken out in cuffs...

I just read through this whole thread! :hammer: While reading, I had so many good ideas for posts but have forgotten most of them...

I met my wife in a Disney chat room on AOL.

I grew up in Florida but never liked wearing shorts. It could be 100 degrees out and I would still be wearing jeans. Now that I live in Oregon, I wear shorts every chance I get!

I have an unhealthy obsession with the two-dollar-bill.
I have carried the same two dollar bill around in my wallet for over 5 years. I call it my "emergency dollar" but have never spent it, even at times when I am otherwise broke and need money.

My favorite color is pink, but I tell people it's green since pink is considered a "girly color." Hey, if a girl can like blue, why can't a guy like pink?

I am a fan of many styles of music and have seen many concerts including Janet Jackson, Clay Aiken, Everclear, 98 Degrees, Snoop Dogg, Billy Joel, Hootie And The Blowfish, Matchbox Twenty, Eminem, Rick Springfield, Ice Cube, Elton John and many others but the one I am most embarassed about was when I was in high school... MC Hammer and Vanilla Ice. Check and mate ;)

My favorite movie growing up was Back To The Future. I had it on video and would watch it every day after I got home from school.

I am a big movie fan but have never seen any of the Godfather movies.

My favorite musician is Michael Jackson and I believe he is 100% innocent of the charges against him. I just wish he would stop all the plastic surgery.

I have a 4.0 GPA in college and one of my college papers about Queen Victoria has been published.

I never even tried drinking alcohol until my 21st birthday when I discovered it tastes horrible and now I don't drink.

... And just think, these are the facts I wasn't too embarassed to tell you. Just imagine what things I kept to myself  :lookaroun

I've found it to be an acquired taste. But margaritas are very yummy and not too alcohol-y tasting. :slurp:

mmmm, margaritas...

They're great! But, I have had them be too alcohol-y tasting once. Like everything, if not made right, they can have too much. But, I totally agree that when made right (which in my experience is most of the time) they are delicious.

I don't like straight alcohol, but mixed drinks like margaritas, daquiris, etc. are great! I also like bud.

The margarita stand at DCA makes them soooooo well. You can barely taste the alcohol in there. Only once did I taste too much alcohol in their margaritas.

I'm more of an MGD fan than Bud... but I get two free cases of Bud per month (yay for working for Anheuser-Busch! :sohappy: ) so I drink it anyways.

I just came back from visiting my grandmother at my parent's house and she made a killer coke and rum (which I normally don't care for) and now I'm buzzed...I'm headed out to disneyland in a few hours...teacups will be fun :dazzle:

For me, I like fruity mixed drinks and tequila shots. :slurp:

Kirsten, have you tried the scooby snacks yet?

No, I haven't. I haven't been anywhere to buy one (or even buy what I need to make one myself). :(

Do you have a Dave & Busters near by (they make the best)? Or when you go to Disneyland visit the ESPN Zone...they make a good one.

Exactly. But they're so yummy!

I actually wondered for awhile if they put any alcohol in them at all... then I got one that had too much alcohol, and I realized that yes, they really do.

Yes!! There's one right down by Qualcomm Stadium, just a few minutes drive away. I'll have to try and find the time to go there!
