We are wanting to go back to 50's prime time when we are at MGM in December but when I printed the menu, my daughter said YUK:hurl: to some of the veggies they serve, say for instance "greens" with fried chicken, she loves green beans but not "greens" sooooo..... my question is~~~does anyone know if the 50's Prime Time will sub one of their veggies for another? I know that the servers make it a point for you to eat your veggies so you get desert and I know for a fact my daughter will NOT eat some of those veggies and I would hate for something like that o ruin her experience there. If they won't substitute, I guess we could go to Hollywood and Vine instead, then she would have buffett to choose from.

Thanks for your help!

We ate at Prime Time on one of our trips last year and weren't overly impressed. The food was good but the interaction with the character was not. I think though that it was just our "aunt". Infact before we left we ended up taking a picture with our fun loving "cousin". She was fun bt we didn't even meet her until the end. We were just mad that we weren't at her table, they were having fun.....
I hope that your daughter likes it though. Oneday we will give it another chance, so let us know how your experience is.

If memory serves, the "Greens" with the fried chicken is green beans. At least I remember getting green beans with my fried chicken.

But yeah, they'll substitute anything for anything. And the servers aren't exactly sticklers when it comes to not letting you order dessert if you don't clean your plate. They're just busting chops. You know like a brother or sister or cousin or sassy aunt would do. In fact, if your little one is overly sensitive, then when you first meet your server, ask your daughter "You know who he/she reminds me of?" Then mention the first relative you think of who even vaguely reminds you of the server, to put her at ease.

The menu changed a few moths ago and the greens served with the fried chicken are collard greens. As far as restaurant collard greens go they actually are pretty good.

COLLARD GREENS?

Well, that settles it. Disney hates me. Don't know what I did, but the betrayal is now complete.

Yummmmm I LOVE collard greens. However, I do consider myself to be in a minority on that account - especially when considering the world population. What were they thinking?

My idea of a great meal? Collards, canteloupe, pickled beets, fried okra, sliced homegrown tomatoes, cornbread (greasy, not sweet), and sweet tea. Oh how I miss my mother!

That sounds yummy! :slurp: Don't forget the ham.

Although I could do without smelling the collards cook!

We went to 50's Prime Time in Oct and we loved it. My daughter's friend tried to tell on her for not eating her greens, which would NEVER happen anyway, and "Uncle David" told her to stop being a tattletale. It was funny.

I had the roast and it was yummy. My children loved the chicken and we all loved the chicken noodle soup. The desserts were wonderful too. We were on the dining plan so we overate everywhere we went and had a ball doing it. :slurp:

I actually love collard greens. Turnip greens, too. And the greens I had with the fried chicken at 50's Prime Time last month were really tasty.

I think raw fish is gross, though. :hurl:
