YouTube is an online video library composed of various forms of entertainment and information for those who seek it.
YouTube is a place for people to express themselves and meet new people. YouTube is not just a place where people post random stupid stuff to get a quick million views of fame. There is a huge YouTube event called Playlist Live that is hosted every year in Orlando and is a huge hit.
Wouldn't it be pretty awesome if they had a YouTube themed area?
I don't understand these words.TheFineBros (Kids/Teens/Elders React) - 12.3 million subs
Nigahiga (Comedic videos) 15.89 million subs
PewdiePie (Gaming) 36.6 million subs (6.65 billion total views)
JennaMarbles (Vlogs and ect.) 15.5 million subs
BFvsGF/PrankvsPrank ("Prank war") 11.58 million subs
RayWilliamJohnson (Vlogs) 10.8 million subs
Tobuscus (Gaming/Comedic) 14.99 million subs
Smosh (Comedic videos) 32.81 million subs
You don't agree with what? I haven't stated any opinions. It seems more like you and the original poster don't understand that YouTube is a platform. It's like proposing a DVD themed area for stuff that is on DVDs.Like I said I don't agree, but I respect your opinion nothing I can do to change it.
Ok I'll just accept that YouTube creator place probably won't work at Disney Springs as stated by many in this thread. What about if Disney Springs opened up a Maker Studios store the size of the new Marvel store where you can buy Merch and maybe meet one of the creators that are partnered by them. Would that work since Disney bought the company last spring or does fall into the same category of a YouTube place? You don't agree with what? I haven't stated any opinions. That would be completely different because Maker Studios is a content creator and not a platform. But, excepting Star Wars Weekends, Walt Disney World has done away with big events around meeting stars and creators. Maker Studios merchandise is available and if Consumer Products thought it was selling well enough it most definitely would be available in Disney's physical stores.Ok I'll just accept that YouTube creator place probably won't work at Disney Springs as stated by many in this thread. A subsection of World of Disney, or a small Maker / Disney Channel store with a small "meet and greet" rotation area could work...I don't see Maker having enough of a draw. Millions of subs on youtube is impressive for an online platform, but is still a very small percentage of the larger world.Ok I'll just accept that YouTube creator place probably won't work at Disney Springs as stated by many in this thread. Minor point: Parks and Resorts Merchandise is different than Disney Consumer Products. That would be completely different because Maker Studios is a content creator and not a platform. Parks and Resorts is run by a Consumer Products guy and that's been the focus since the business model changed in the late 1990s.Minor point: Parks and Resorts Merchandise is different than Disney Consumer Products.
No.
And while we're at it, let's do away with the notion of "You Tube Stars."

Yeah as much as I would love to see something from Maker Studios I kinda agree it might not be a huge success. While millions of people enjoy their videos and subscribe to the YouTube channels of Maker you just never see anyone wearing a Maker Studios Merch. It probably would do better as an online section on the Disney Store than a actual store in Disney Springs. That would be completely different because Maker Studios is a content creator and not a platform. But would overt displays of Disney ownership be good for Maker Studios? It kind of kills the illusion of regular Joes producing content and becoming stars.Yeah as much as I would love to see something from Maker Studios I kinda agree it might not be a huge success. I'm not talking about the strategy, I'm talking about the organizational structure. Junk sold at Downtown Disney is TP&R revenue, not DCP revenue.Parks and Resorts is run by a Consumer Products guy and that's been the focus since the business model changed in the late 1990s.
A lot of the content creators came out about it when it happened. Angry Joe did a whole episode on it (which was actually quite funny). It's not exactly a "secret".But would overt displays of Disney ownership be good for Maker Studios? It kind of kills the illusion of regular Joes producing content and becoming stars.
Are there other studios where you DO see people walking around with their merch? I can't think of much online-specific merch in general, let alone YouTube. Maybe The Onion or Homestar Runner.Yeah as much as I would love to see something from Maker Studios I kinda agree it might not be a huge success. I didn't say it was their revenue. If The merchandise sold Consumer Products would notice and push it more. The parks would follow suit because they are operated as malls.I'm not talking about the strategy, I'm talking about the organizational structure.
