Trip Report A Whole Lotta Driving Going on!

Hello everyone. Today, Crystal and I make our way to Disney! Our journey started almost 2 weeks ago on July 3. We've been traveling the Midwest and Gulf Coast visiting family and seeing the sites and are currently staying in Tallahassee visiting Brayden at FSU. We made stops in Indianapolis, Carlinville, IL, Amana, Iowa, Madison, WI, Oxford, MS, New Orleans, LA before making it to Tallahassee. We also made brief stops in other states along the way. Getting breakfast with Brayden later this morning before driving to Disney to get Maddy after her shift at Be Our Guest. The plan is to head to Epcot for extra evening hours tonight. I'll post pictures of our journey later. I look forward to sharing as we go.

This was a great TR. I really enjoyed the addition of various places you visited, aside of the WDW portion of your trip. You had some really nice photos as well. Thank you for sharing all your travels with us! Have a safe trip back home.

She had a great time. Got most of her stuff out yesterday and in storage in Columbia ready for the fall semester

Yes
After Beaches and Cream, we dropped Maddy off and said our goodbyes. We were then on our way to Columbia to put her bags in storage. We made 2 short stops and arrived in about 6 1/2 hours.

Unpacking and putting her stuff away was easy. We got a late dinner at Iron Hill, then drove another 1 1/2 hours to just north of Charlotte were we stayed last night.

Just under 9 hours of driving left until we are home again.

We would learn to appreciate it and the surrounding area the next day, however.

Living a short drive from New Orleans and having spent many days/nights having fun on Bourbon Street over the years, I can confirm it is definitely not the same as it was 20-25 years ago.

Crystal and I returned safely this evening. The drive went well except for a 45 minute detour due to a vehicle fire that closed 81 North in VA.

States visited on this trip: Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, Missouri, Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama, Florida,, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, and Maryland (obviously not in that order). We drove just over 5000 miles.

I’ll post final thoughts in the next day or so
