A Terror-rific Spirited 13th (ToT fans have lots to fear)...

Ok, a few general things
  1. I thought that the Tower was safe, and now, from catching up with the thread, they're waiting on copyright laws???
  2. My coworkers and friends keep telling me that I was the first person they thought of when they heard about Carrie Fisher. Needless to say, I'm not handling this well. I cried a lot yesterday. Carrie and Leia were huge inspirations to me growing up, and it's hard processing that Carrie's gone. The next dog I get is going to be named Leia, whenever that happens.
  3. I saw Rogue One again on Friday. I definitely appreciated it more the second time around. When comparing the two recent Star Wars films, I think TFA did better with the character development, but Rogue One wins for the story (and that third act, holy flip). Chirrut and Baze are probably my favorite characters. I think it's unfortunate that Disney isn't including RO into Star Tours, because I would love to have a scene set on Jedha with Baze and Chirrut (or Jyn, Cassian, and K2SO, or something with Bodhi).
  4. Finally saw Moana Monday night. While it's not my favorite Disney movie, I think it was better than Zootopia, and it was loads better than Big Hero 6. It's too bad that DHS doesn't do parades anymore like they did in the 90s, because after I saw the movie, I thought how perfect it would be to have a Moana parade.
  5. My sister and I watched the Disney Parks Christmas special, as always, and I think Pandora looks stunning (nobody else in my family was excited for it though).

The ToT still is safe. It was announced at a D23 event that GotG is not coming to DHS's ToT.

Of course, things change and execs change. But you can be sure they're not taking ToT offline for an overlay, if that would ever happen, until the two new Lands are built. So, it's safe for at least 3 years... unless some exec goes mental.

It was announced that PUSH was not leaving the Magic Kingdom the day before it was announce that the character was leaving immediately. There was also nothing going on at the Contemporary when there was 100' of steel rising into the air. Disney saying something will not happen is a worthless promise.

Heck all of Disneys promises recently have been worthless

Basically, Tower Of TRerror is safe...until it's not.

Yeah, this. Would love to see a Rogue One scene added to ST where it would actually make sense. Another option would be Mustafar and Vader's fortress.

Exactly. Disney has lots of ways in which what they say is technically true. If a project is still in the feasibility stage where it is being reviewed, then the project is technically not happening at that time. Once Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout! opens the excuse of guest demand will be sitting right there.

It is however evidence in the 'against' column. Especially when it comes from Chapek.

The 'for' column is a single (albeit generally strong) insider who has great facts but a crummy track record of predicting the future. One whose sources recently went a little sour to boot.

Until a second source actually steps up to support Spirit (instead of countering him like they all have been doing) I think too many tears have been spilt on this one. Even things TDO announces barely have an 85% chance of coming to fruition.

There was some strange power play at hand behind the scenes. Perhaps to get a bad idea killed, but the odds have always been incredibly conflated.

Dear Disney,
You'd better start construction on the GMR replacement before I make it down there in May. Otherwise, I'm chaining myself to the "Singing in the Rain" portion. I loved Debbie Reynolds, and I'm crying my eyes out right now. 2016 was beyond awful, and I can't imagine things improving any time soon.
Help me, 2020. You're my only hope.

I think that 2016 taught us that we need to live every day to the fullest, to be kind to people, but also to make sure others don't boss us around. So many celebrities died this year far below the national average. Yes, some lived to ripe old ages (Nancy Reagan, Arnold Palmer, Gordie Howe, Gene Wilder, Fidel Castro surprisingly), but some were taken by cancer (David Bowie, Alan Rickman), a few from heart failures of sorts (Garry Shandling, Alan Thicke, George Michael- that we know of right now, Carrie Fisher), and Anton Yelchin was killed from a faulty car. Yes, some were drug related (Prince, potentially George Michael, and it was probably the conquered cocaine addiction that had a terrible effect on Carrie's heart), but others, like Glenn Frey and Muhammad Ali, died from other illnesses.

While I know everyone has focused on their deaths, don't forget about what they did while they were alive. Bowie, Prince, and George Michael challenged the norms of what it meant to be masculine. Carrie Fisher spoke out about her mental illness and the double standard of men vs women aging in the film industry. Don't let the conversations end because they died. Continue the conversations so that their legacies live.

Counting the hours till this awful year ends.

I've been quiet lately (sorry guys- real life is getting in the way) but have been trying to keep up with this thread. If anyone is looking for me just drop me a PM :)

I'm more excited for happenings up the road than at Disney right now- although seeing more of Pandora in the video spot during the 3 hours informerical/parade was rather exciting.

I wish they'd put a STAT on getting DHS built up quicker.
