I wonder if the "Oscars So White" backlash will help the likes of Moonlight, Hidden Figures or Fences when it comes to Best Picture. Obviously, Miranda might benefit from that type of sentiment as well.
I think Moonlight has the best shot of the three (there are no theaters in my area that have it, so it looks like I'll have to wait to watch it), but Hidden Figures could be an underdog (I'm hoping to see it this weekend).

Ah no... not even close. That's an insult to the lows WDI has reached in their lifetime.

Those issues you have are all executive driven decisions, none had anything to do with WDI.

The wholesale destruction of the Imagination Pavilion is just one example from that very park. The Shanghai Disneyland hub is a better example from 2016.

Superstar limo or opening day WDS wish they were FEA... the word quality wasn't allowed within a thousand miles of those turds.
You're right. I just wanted to insult FEA. The Imagineering associated with that attraction is positive but the overall end result is awful despite Imagineerings best efforts.

While both are going to be fantastic, I don't think one is going to really out shine the other. They are two different things. No more then anything Disney builds is a "potter swatter"

Its a joke about how both of them are based on exotic locations with foreigners and special languages (the Nav'i and volcano bay with the Waturi).

I'm not. Finding Dory wasn't bad, but it certainly isn't award-winning. It's like Monsters University. A movie nobody really wanted to see that was cute and fun, not not memorable.

Yeah, it certainly wasn't better than Nemo, just surprised it didn't get any nods by default, like many Pixar films. Not disappointed though for sure.

Comcast/Universal beasted on Wall Street and thank it to the theme parks....interesting to note the last sentence

The new Potter land, Comcast Chief Executive Officer Brian Roberts told analysts, “shattered attendance records” at Universal Studios Hollywood.

The theme-park division’s fourth-quarter revenue increased 32.1 percent year over year to $1.3 billion. Much of that was because of the majority stake it bought in Universal Studios Japan, but even without that, revenue increased 13.2 percent.

Operating cash flow increased 41.9 percent to $640 million. Higher revenue was partially offset by an increase in operating expenses, including costs to support new attractions.

For the full year, theme park revenue increased 48.2 percent to $4.9 billion compared to the previous year. Operating cash flow increased 49.6 percent to $2.2 billion.

Looking forward, Comcast executives said they expect 2017 to be a strong year, with the opening of Jimmy Fallon: Race Through New York and the Volcano Bay water park at Universal Orlando. Universal has set up high expectations for Volcano Bay, consistently referring to it in marketing materials as a theme park. Executives referred to it Thursday as a “third gate.” In the industry, a “gate” has typically meant a traditional theme park.

Executives said Volcano Bay will be the world’s best water park.

I really hope to go someday. I enjoyed both Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon growing up, but this is definitely one that I want to make time for. Volcano Bay won't take guests away from Pandora, but it definitely could take them away from Blizzard Beach (Typhoon Lagoon at least is getting a new water coaster, but both parks need new things to do).

Finally saw La La Land last night. Outside of the opening number (which wasn't nominated to begin with), the two songs that were nominated don't really hold a candle to 'How Far I'll Go' in terms of catchiness. It all comes down to whether Academy voters want to give Lin Manuel Miranda his O in the EGOT or if they'll go whole hog on the La La Land train.

I'm surprised about the songs they went with from La La Land. o_O I agree that the opening song was better than at least one of the two they went with, as was Someone in the Crowd. I guess the Academy likes the slow stuff...
