No, the plans are pretty minor to begin with. It's also doing fine if Frozen is the benchmark you are referring to, which is getting a whole land and finished its China run with 48 million.

I'm pretty sure the HK gov will stop the plans before Moana's box office.
Note that the amounts are easily explainable. the US currency vs other currencies have changed a lot. For example, thanks to our inept president and the election of Trump.. Mexican Peso lost 40% of value, hence why even if its 14% lower.. I bet the ticket sales are 30% higher than Frozen.
And I keep hearing the same for a lot of latinamerican and euro countries vs the USD.

Moana isn't doing as well internationally and underperforming in China. Will that stop the plans for Moana in HK?
Moana is using an international release strategy not unlike Big Hero 6 where the film is going to roll out over this month and next around the world. The Chinese Goverment loves to pit big American/Western releases against each other, Fantastic Beasts won that fight. The Moana show for Hong Kong is in a theater that can be used for anything going forward. Shows are very popular at the Asian parks so that venue will be valuable to that park going forward.

Always good to remind folks to read Nancy Tartaglione's international BO reports over at Deadline.

Its so world class..they are even making 100% customized lifeguard gear so they stay in theme with the rest of the park. Unlike some other themed water parks. *cough cough*...I'm just stirring the pot.
It's not a themed water part, it's a Hydronic Experience .

Remember, this time of the years MK is only open around 3 nights a week due to the Christmas party. So the nights there isn't one, people pile into the park
Yes! total madness with no night time parade. We are having fun and still getting to do everything we want too. I would hate to have a big family trying to deal with this mess.

Lastly, I think Coco information came out and despite still being my most hyped animated film from next year I see a problem from the story. Does anyone else see it?

Coco follows the secret musical ambitions of Miguel, who resides in a lively, loud Mexican village but comes from a family of shoemakers that may be the town’s only music-hating household. For generations, the Riveras have banned music because they believe they’ve been cursed by it; as their family history goes, Miguel’s great-great-grandfather abandoned his wife decades earlier to follow his own dreams of performing, leaving Imelda (Miguel’s great-great-grandmother) to take control as the matriarch of the now-thriving Rivera line and declare music dead to the family forever.

Do you have a story/plot concern? Are you thinking that some folks will jump on cultural stereotypes, while also not being able to secure a Chinese release due to the 'ghost' elements?

The ghost thing as well as it has the exact same plot as Book of Life which is also about Dios de los Muertos which Manolo who grew up in a household of bull fighters just wanted to be a musician whereas Coco same story with now it being a shoemaker.

So my observations on the past six months..... As I've been afk....

WDW is essentially emulating places like Atlantis. Expensive as hell and if you want to do anything, it costs extra. They're milking every last dime.

This is not the same management style or plan from 13 years ago. That special, magical feeling.... that is quickly killed when the mouse is constantly asking for more money.

That pretty much sums it up. :(

Book of Life, while excellent, didn't even break $100M WW. So even if they are the exact same movie, Pixar is likely to make more than $500M WW.

Is it this part, "only after Miguel discovers an amazing link between himself and De la Cruz that he takes action to emulate the famous singer"?
Because the "amazing link" is actually an incredibly obvious link, or I'll eat my hat.
