A Spirited Valentine ...

Paid TV will fight back by reducing prices and tempting more free TV viewers to upscale. It's not a battle which is an inevitable loss that they have to accept.
Or ruining the net neutrality to try to take back some of the money that goes to netflix after cordcutters affect the big cable/internet providers.. just saying.

That might be more about recent concerns about people reaching out and interfering with the animatronics or scenery, in which case being trackless probably wouldn't make a difference.

But check out the Hundred Acres scene in this video (starts at 0:16):

The scenery is very close to the track, showing that it's at least possible, even if the lawyers/management are more cautious...

check 0:40, its not that close. Imho, its an effect caused by the FOV of the camera. Most smaller cameras and starttup bridge cameras, can have very narrow FOVs in video mode.

Huh? The scenery looks close to me?

I mean, this is literally my video. I filmed this. I was actually there. The paths were very narrow, and the scenery close.

Whether this is indicative of future trackless endeavors though, I don't know. I suspect lawyering (and concerns about selfie sticks, etc.) has a lot to do with making sure the goods are far from the ride vehicles...

Splash Mountain here is like a crazy acid trip. Holy crap. Magic Kingdom wins hands down.

Ha, funny enough I always said that the end of the WDW Splash Mountain, basically from the Laffin' Place fall to the end, seemed like a trip that was going bad...I don't particularly have much in the way of firsthand knowledge of what that's like, but the laughter during that time just seems like it gets weirder and weirder as you near the end.

Having just done Disneyland for the first time back on the last day of June, yeah, the pacing on a lot of Disneyland versions of rides feels like it's a lot quicker, less room to breathe, which makes Pirates stand out as an exception (albeit with the annoying movie tie-ins put in, as well).

First time at DL since last D23. It was an amazing day! I got some great shots of them testing the steam locos and in general cool photos. The Space Mountain is smooth but most of it is slow. I like the omega track better. Also the Columbia was making rounds yesterday. They had 2 locomotives going around: Ward Kimball (went into service in '05) and Fred Gurley.

This and Wrinkle in Time have me extremely hyped. Wrinkle looks incredible with the cast diversity and the intricate design aspects and now this looks awesome with strong female characters and that costume design is one point.
I need to start looking at Wrinkle production photos. The cast looks amazing, but it wasn't my favorite book growing up, so I'm currently at a level slightly above 'indifferent'.

Black Panther's costume and make up design though. Holy flip, is this movie going to be a masterpiece for the eyes or what :joyfull:
