Is it any surprise that Avatar merchandise is selling well and is being scalped on eBay. Its the first NEW and UNIQUE Disney merch in over a decade. So its going to be a must have for Disney collectors especially the 'first run' purchased at attraction merchandise.

Im surprised the stock did not go faster

Has it occurred to anyone that Flight of Passage, for "design reasons," may end up being more popular with women than with men?

If "design reasons" haven't stopped men from riding Space Mountain and the Matterhorn in California, Flight of Passage should be fine.

Just think, if Disney could learn something from this "Attraction specific merch sells", they might bring some of the unique merch back to Dinoland when the update happens.

I was so disappointed to see how they got rid of most of the Dinosaur/CTX foam rubber dinosaur line. Wanted to get a new Carnotaur to replace the one I had as a kid (foam rot finally started breaking his feet a few years ago and I made a bad call of throwing him out instead of trying to patch him up some way), but they don't carry the medium size I had that would be easier to carry or any dinosaurs outside Carnotaurus and the Alioramus they put a T.Rex tag on.

Would be great to not only see a return of Dinosaur's old toyline, but some retro "Imperial dinosaur" inspired toyline for whatever ride they use the Energy dinos in. Like imagine figures in this style replicating the poses of those old figures. Throwback toys for dinosaur designs that are themselves rooted in paleoart's past.

EPCOT is kind of a weird park to work with.

Like, yes, us hardcore Disney crusties long for the days when it was just an educational park with slow moving dark rides as its primary attractions. Thing is...people just don't go to Walt Disney World for that kind of stuff, lol. They want escapism from their slow, boring lives, to be thrilled, to meet their favorite characters, etc. That's why, over the years, they've been dumbing down EPCOT with fast paced thrill rides like Test Track and Mission Space as well as plastering Disney/Pixar characters everywhere like what happened to The Living Seas and El Rio Del Tiempo.

It does suck, don't get me wrong, but I kinda see why they've done this from a business perspective.

Yet Epcot held large masses of people for years. The drop of people and the lack of care began when the park when through the 90s. Every ride was gutted or replaced with an almost less than ride. What once were technological marvels and amazing rides are now just common theme park rides. What once made EPCOT Center special is gone and rather then admit that they started ruining the park in the 90s, they want to say that people just didn't like the old stuff which isn't only dumb but just a lie.

Let us not forget, a large part of EPCOT's initial success was the relatively-unified reverence with which '80s America held the idea of industrial and scientific "progress."
People smarter than me have written essays about how the original EPCOT was a church with NASA standing in for God. Hard to count how many times the image of the holy Space Shuttle popped up in various attractions.
Needless to say, that sort of thing doesn't "fly" anymore.
Whatever the appeal was then, it won't be again, at least for a long, long time. I'm not sure if Elsa and Panchito Pistoles are the answer, but Disney will have to try something different to see the park froward.
