On a brighter side,

Since the hub is being used as a lounging area, maybe our foreign guests, with different cultural morays, will take up topless sunbathing?
BUT PLEASE THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!

Oh, so you've seen the new Star Wars, have you?

So wreck it Ralph is on the same plane as Oliver and company and home on the range? So frozen didn't eclipse every Disney movie in history?

Disney Studios? They aren't cranking out Cinderella 3- they're making tinkerbell and planes. While not masterpieces- as far as direct to video- please, tell me who is cranking out better films. Universal with Barbie and monster high?

Pixar and Disney are on some weird dimension where Pixar has gotten less original and worse, while Disney has gotten immensely more original and critically acclaimed

So you can call it "guff" but you are a troll- not a movie critic. One can simple look at box office totals and rotten tomatoes scores to see you are in the minority.

Here is the real rub though- why are you here? If you want to say DHS sucks, I'll agree with you. If you want to say maintenance has been mediocre at WDW- I'll beat that drum with you. But when you intentionally just hate everything and anything they do well- which anyone with half a brain cell would agree that the movie studio section is top notch right now- what's the point of your existence here? You can't enjoy anything. You can't find happiness here. You need a new hobby.

Walt Disney Studios whilst that is the large production arm I was merely referring to that as the ones responsible for the terrible live action films.

What your thinking of is DisneyToon Studios the ones that were in part responsible to the direct-to-dvd stuff.

They aren't...look at what they are producing the last movie from Disney Studio that was dark and risky was Tron Legacy. Everything has been a by the numbers very safe. You can't claim a movie studio is 'top notch' when they refuse point blank to make edgy groundbreaking films. The best parts of Disney film slate are Marvel Studios and Lucas Arts currently.

I do love it how when you give out critical thinking the fanbois rush to defend anything Disney produces good, mediocre or even down right bad.

No they haven't, certainly not WDAS in any event. And both animation studios are releasing original, diverse films in the coming years in Zootopia and Moana (WDAS) and Inside Out and The Good Dinosaur (Pixar). I know you don't like animation and have some strange grudge against John Lasseter but each studio is thriving and if the upcoming films are of a similar quality as the "guff" that they've released in recent years then both WDAS and Pixar will remain pivotal cornerstones of the company.

Animation is in the midst of another renaissance at Disney and with Lasseter at the helm the future continues to look very bright.

If they would go with darker themes and aim to be edgy and boundary pushing to aim for that BBFC 15 rating, then they would be doing some good.

But then again I will gladly pay money to go to see Minions, cause those film know exactly what they are to be upbeat and funny.

Or to stop the bleeding.

SeaWorld is not in great shape right now.

No, it isn't.

And it could have been prevented. They handled the Blackfish story like it was a grenade instead of going on the offensive. If I knew people high up there, I would have offered my consulting services on their 'problem' and I'm sure things could have gone differently.

But adding a cheap thrill coaster will staunch the bleeding, so it isn't a bad thing.

I was enjoying some Starbucks and watching Kraken earlier this week ... still one great coaster. Still, my favorite in O-Town.

Sorry to switch gears and sorry again if this has been posted...

I guess the costs are about to go up? Thoughts @WDW1974

http://www.orlandosentinel.com/business/os-disney-magic-band-lawsuit-20150423-story.html

I am not a techie (just ask my PML pals as they worry daily about how it affects my street cred!), so I really don't know enough to offer an opinion (unlike say when a 27-year-old tech writer scores the only major story on NGE with unprecedented access since I DO have journalism in my background and I DO get what it all likely means).

So, I'm sorry, but have folks like @flynnibus or any of our other techies weighed in?

Every article I read seems to mention Disney along with it. Disney is always pushing their name alongside Star Wars or Marvel of late it's hard NOT to notice.

Clearly, TWDC wants the world to know that it owns Marvel and Lucas. From Disney Infinity to theme parks (that aren't in the swamps) to pushing the properties on ABC and ESPN etc, everyone is supposed to know who is Spidey and Darth Vader's daddy. Ya know?

The Roccos in Dr. Phillips is pretty awesome. Each room has its own bar area, and there is a great party atmosphere going on, even when you are sitting down to eat. It can get pretty loud though, so not the best place for an intimate dinner. Cinco de Mayo, they close down a big section of the parking lot and have a block party with entertainment and drink booths. I happened to be there once on the Owner's bday celebration and he was giving away free bottles of pretty pricey Tequila as he rode around on a motorized cooler for reasons like best beard or a certain color shirt.

I'm going to try one of our local locations next week (I wanted to try tonight, but I hate the whole Friday night crowds,) but I do recall all the Lifestylers tweeting about the Dr. Phillips locale when it opened, so I assumed they got free grub because that's the only thing that will get them to that side of town.

I understand that Dave, but it is quite obvious that the project is not complete, and that the video Disney released shows a whole lot of trees, even in the central hub area.

And if, since Disney has released that video, there are no trees when the project is completed, I will lead the charge with pitchforks raised to City Hall to complain!

Start sharpening it now you will need it.

I knew when I posted the remark about drinking at Epcot that people would be only too happy to share their "I NEVER did anything like that" recollections. These forums have so many members that you can always get a counterpoint on any topic whatsoever. Gold stars to all who have never participated in "drink around the world" or similar shenanigans. Truly. It is too bad that "to drink or not to drink" is so divisive among otherwise tolerant and like-minded individuals. :lookaroun

The point I would like to make to the "I never" crowd is this: There are going to be people who are going to drink at Epcot, especially at night and most especially in the World Showcase. The presence of a few who get overserved does not turn the entire population of World Showcase during food and wine or any other time into a drunken mob. I recognize you are unlikely to change your mind no matter what may be written or shared, so this post is for those who do choose to partake, to give them a voice in the discussion.

Now, who's up for a discussion on refillable mugs or pool crashing at Deluxe hotels? :)

Nothing wrong with drinking at WDW. I had more alcohol over five days than I likely had in the two months prior combined. But I never was drunk. I was never obnoxious (leave this one for my pals here). I was never using the 'f-word' at the top of my lungs while walking thru World Showcase or out of Disney-MGM.

The behavior has changed. Part of this absolutely has to do with Disney shilling booze in a way that it only used to do for timeshares. George Kalogridis and Co absolutely want you to know that getting tanked is part of a MAGICal WDW vacation (to be fair, though, after seeing the new Hub or riding one of the MK attractions, drinking is a very logical option for those who don't smoke for medicinal reasons!)

Again, THIS would be a story for the O-Sentinel, but Soup & Salad Sandra won't touch it. What has happened to journalism in this country? (rhetorical, as I know!)

So FP+ worked for you?

What's the point, Goof?

Of course, it did. It has ever since it has debuted. I've never had an issue with it and I've played it like a fine violin. But I'm always going to game the system.

Again, I'll 'steal' Coke no matter how much money Disney wastes on RapidFill or any other crazy a$$ system. And I firmly believe that Jesus would too! (Jesus my lawn man, before people get bent ... out of shape ... over that!)

Really? Cause I could've sworn you were talking about Jesus the bowler ;)
