It's sitting at 94% on RT at the moment with 18 reviews counted. I've seen others and the the worst anyone can seem to say about it is that it's too straight forward an adaption (and that if you're not big on Cinderella now, this movie won't change that).

I'll take a well made, faithful version of Cinderella any day over a revisionist movie where she teams up with Goldilocks to fight werewolves or some other nonsense.
now to find an excuse to go see it in the cinema..

I had a harder time with it. There are several very sweet and charming moments. The cast is great. The dialogue is atrocious. I can only imagine Cate Blanchett's face to first time she read some of her lines.

It's fine, but uneven.

Frozen Fever, on the other hand, is fun, joyous and thoroughly enjoyable.

But is the dialogue as bad as it was in "Interstellar"?

What that article fails to mention is that 70mm IMAX's native resolution(digital equivalent) is 16-18K. Those side-by-side 4K laser projectors, the same ones that have been rumored for Soarin' if our overlords were so generous, only cover half that

But the points about brightness and contrast still ring true... and are a soft spot for IMAX 70mm.. especially the vignetting at the corners. The article is weak on quantifying the effective resolution points.. but if it still delivers a great experience, I won't nag.

The light and contrast issues look to exceed the existing quality. Even with the light source being one of the most impressive aspects of existing 70mm.. it still can feel dim.

Why offer guests an experience that will be at the same standard as their multiplex IMAX/LIEMAX theater when Disney has the capability to offer a superior experience digital won't be able to match for some time.

I wouldn't discount the combination of sound and physical experience that soarin' offers :) I don't think that holding onto the older 70mm format is the key differentiator that makes soarin' stand out from the 'home town' stuff.

I agree. I think you'd need to team up Cinderella, Goldilocks and Elsa and have them find a cure for the walking dead to avoid being nonsensical.

Spirited Weekend Quickees:

A late Happy Birthday to the best leader TWDC has ever had who isn't named Walt. Many more, MDE!!!

Is it true Willow Bay is under so much pressure at USC that she considered bailing out of Thursday night's Women in Leadership event? I hear she has to had to answer tough questions. So sorry. #firewillowbay #disneycensors #IgerpowerlessinChina

Fans who are focused on the fact snack bars at WDW are, according to @wdwmagic, swapping menus/locales are why you get third tracks for crappy rides like TSMM instead of new cutting edge attractions.

Want to know why Bob Iger (he of the censored Disney CEO Fumbles Entry to China Op-Ed) can't have his picture shown at SDL? Look no further than the strange /curious choices made in HKDL's expansion. More on this to come ... Soon.:D

Why are people looking to change my narrative now? Have I hit too close to home?

My biggest 'issue' with current WDW projects is they seem totally lacking in art direction. Things are decorated and not themed way too often . The Cracker Barrel may have great Sunday chicken, right @Lee?, but assorted country mass-produced and aged knick knacks are not theming. Disney seems to have forgotten this. Decisions are made (take the new Hub, please, because I sure as hell don't want it!) with no sense of the staging that was part of the original build of the area. Sure, it started with toonish giant hats and wands, but now it is seen in everything from park infrastructure 'enhancements' to attraction show buildings and queues to retail and dining decor.

Art design basically exists only in individual projects and in no way takes into account the environment in which the new things exist. It is terrible. It shows no depth, unlike the layers of intricate theming you just get at DAK, not to mention state of the art stuff like UNI's Diagon Alley.

Disney used to be about transporting you somewhere and now the only place they want to take you is to BRAND advocate brainwashing sessions.

How many MAJOR attractions will UNI build by the time the MK adds a new E-Ticket or EPCOT adds something of substance?

Some folks ...
