A Spirited Dirty Dozen ...

Some of that stuff has been there for a long time like the digital Hitchhiking Ghosts, the Small World and RnRC TV's, etc. It just wasn't till now that all the StoryMaker stuff was "turned on."

I went last year and observed the same kind of behavior displayed in Shanghai a while ago. No respect for what that land once held.
Technically, even if it was "there' but not "turned on" could be exactly a reason.. Ie, something was not ready to be activated yet or not linked and finalized.

Its furniture in the foreground. The shot is trying to use framing in an interesting way, it just happens to be less than successful. I think you're reading too much into things . . .

The point is how amateur it was done. Photographers use composition and depth of field to do that... Not ms paint brush painting out things in irregular shapes. Heck even a high school kid would have at least used photoshop to replace the areas with something less obvious.

Something like that on your corporate public facing blog is embarrassing bad.

The circular shape got me for a second too, until I realized it's most likely bokeh from a highlight on the corner of a white chair (or other piece of furniture). Clicking the link, there's a shot of the couch that uses a similar depth of field in the same essay. It's much more likely a style choice (though a weird one) than a completely erroneous photoshop tragedy that somehow made it past everyone and into publishing. Those corners aren't even erased to white - lending credence to the idea that it's white-painted furniture that's out of focus. That's not even the way you would photoshop something out of a photo like that, it just doesn't make sense.

Yes, its framed through an out of focus object.

No,I'm a IT with graphic designer experience, also a hobby photographer. Bookeh doesnt look that smudgy and with those "scratch' marks.
Very apparent on the low right side of the photo.

Not to mention as others said.. the white parts on the area are way too identical in size to be natural blurring. Looks like a 80% opacity cream brush.

So makes me wonder if the person who got the photo did not like the out of focus areas in the "front" of the photo and just decided to patch over them with a white brush.

This is interesting. Just got back from our second ever cruise and second cruise on the Disney Dream. The credit card system was down on it last week also. They said they just updated the system in port just before we left and had caused lots of problems. The only way you could make purchases on the ship was to charge it to your on board credit card. The cast members manning the registers said they had lost business due to this as some people did not want to charge to their room or did not have a credit card set up for on board charges.

Ehh... It's been charge to your room only for many many years. You never use credit cards or cash while on the boat. Only to pay your room balance at the end or while off boat in ports. And every room has their account setup for onboard charges. It's only a matter of who they enable with charging rights.

This post is either really confused, or completely borked

And I use photoshop professionally as an integral element of my work process in retouching photos (many that I took) . . . I see stuff like this all the time -- usually you screen out the photo and don't post it if the framing isn't effective like this, but it is merely bad framing. You don't patch things over with a white brush because you don't like them on any level of photography, amateur or professional . . . but especially not professional.

Anyone have another photo of one of these rooms that shows all the furnishings? I bet you anything there are some high-backed white or off-white chairs in there. Looks like a light-colored round table in the lower right corner as well.

I've been going on Disney Cruises for over ten years and you've always had to charge everything to the room, then pay off with cash/CC at the desk

We had our first cruise in October at Halloween so I can't say anything about the past before that but we were able to charge to a different credit card in the on board stores then.

I think people just have different definitions as to what they classify as "crazy drunk people". Wife and I spend a majority of our WDW trips in Epcot as we usually stay at one of the BW Resorts and enjoy the food and drink. Not sure how often you visit but we have been over 15 times in the last 7 years. Do I see drunk people at Epcot/WS? Certainly. But not the horror show so many claim to have witnessed. Where are the videos and photos of this so called daily occurrence? And Im not talking about the few viral videos like the guy climbing the pyramid. There are just as many videos of people acting crazy at MK or any other park. Ive had dozens of run-ins with perfectly sober crazy moms or dads who feel entitled and act is if WDW is only there for them.

If Epcot is the "Drunkeytown" people make it out to be, then Magic Kingdom is "Entitled Psycho Mommy pushing a 9 year old in a stroller Town", which is far more disturbing than a college kid who had a few too many shots of tequila.

Well having never been a fan of the ashcan school of photography yes it's a thing google it Most of us choose to respect the privacy of those who have over indulged How would you feel if someone put a picture of you puking your guts out at Disney and your boss fired you for that bit of stupidity. Remember this is a world where school boards fire teachers because a picture of them on the beach on vacation on their Facebook page is 'too sexy' So most of us simply report the situation as @DVC91 did and skip the picture and respect others privacy while decrying the situation itself

No no, it's not an effect. It's not photoshopped. It's an out of focus object. I've accidentally done that before by leaving the aperture too wide while trying to frame.

It looks like puppy waste in that way.

I don't disagree with you, but there are a lot of people who are justifiably upset about the destruction of the firewall between our private and public lives. Everyone has a picture they regret having taken, and now we live in a world where that one photo can be used to burn down your entire life. It's a big change in social dynamics, and many people are having a hard time adjusting to it.

THIS. most people don't realize that a single picture can literally ruin their life. It's the downside of social media

I was not even talking about stupidity a bunch of school boards have fired teachers on vacation wearing swimwear purchased at mass market retailers and were fired for 'immodesty' because a bunch of intolerant aholes think that women should only visit the beach in Victorian era swim dresses or burkinis

To be fair, You did mention that you were just in the parks. If you feel so strongly about this, then why do you still visit?
He could be like me. I want out, but there are other voters in the family, on how the vacation dollars are spent. The grandsons still want to go, as does DD and hubby. I have to mention, we are also DVC, hubby likes not having to drive from the airport. We do take two trips a year, the one for hubby and I are going to be on a cruise.

Very true. Personally speaking, I still feel that WDW is still a world class place to visit despite the many flaws that have risen and gone unchecked over the years.
