Speaking of Little Mermaid and live action, it's look like Disney is trying to butcher and remake it using pre existing songs and remixing them with Lin Manuel Miranda...yes because part of your world totally needs a hip hop beat and a rap verse breakdown in it .

I'm sorry but Lin Manuel Miranda is far from hip hop only. Not to mention, the man has quite a few Disney inspired numbers in his shows. Call me excited for this.

Disney fans are their own worst enemy.

Yes yes they are and they are the reason Disney is speeding downhill at an ever accelerating pace because as the pixie dusters lap it up and spew on social media how 'Disney has never been better cuz Stah Warz and Marvel' it gives management cover to keep degrading the experience.

I thought I remember Barbosa from 2006 or 2007....

Either way, back to my point: The replacement of a projector, akin to changing a lightbulb, is not news.

The fact that it took months to do so though IS news. Guess Disney could not afford a few hundred dollars (as they are not cheap) for a projector bulb but hey they bought back 5-6 shares of stock instead of replacing that bulb and well that's all that matters to 'Todays Disney'.

It's true...all this talk about Star Wars and have they actually begun any construction at WDW? In the park that should be called Disney's 5 Ride Park....that needs the most help of any Disney park worldwide...and they go full tilt construction at The Disneyland Park to bring Star Wars in first... even though DHS has been languishing for YEARS...slowly degrading... And the big D23 announcement that they were going to work on DHS amounts to nil...oh they will work on it...in a few years...Meanwhile here are a few more crappy meet and greet opportunities...

Do you think at least in part that someone as creative as Lin Manuel Miranda would do better with less restrictions on him to create?

A dividend is for domestic companies considered for all intents and purposes a 'commitment'. You don't raise your divvy unless you intend to maintain it. Bad things happen to companies that slash their divvy. (A dividend can help an equity have a 'floor' since if the yield get's to a certain size buyers will appear).

A buyback isn't a commitment. Companies (assuming that a buyback authorization is in place) basically buy back when they feel like it. A shareholder would hope that those authorized to buy back on the companies behalf will do so wisely and not 'at the top'.

One person may prefer the divvy (financial commitment from the company, possibly used for personal spendable income, and hopefully it creates a floor making the equity more stable), while the other prefers the buyback (would rather generate returns through share price appreciation then a distribution subject to taxation).

As far as $DIS is concerned - it's all about bidding up the share price - generating larger returns when the executives cash out - buyers with shareholder money but sellers with their own.

Another good tidbit from Unofficial Guide 2017.

The review of the Poly Bungalows....

In a nutshell, they raved about the inside.

Not so good was the price and the proximity to the MK Ferry - specifically the sounds a ferry is required by law to make whenever it comes and/or leaves the dock and the effect that has on the occupants of the bungalows.

We really liked the bungalow...my main complaint would be that they REALLY need a third bathroom because most people renting them are going to have 6 people, and the 2nd bathroom is not adequate when getting ready in the morning... Seems like they would have figured that out like they have at some of the other villas....especially with the price point of this one.
We heard the ferries, but they were not bothersome... but maybe that is just us...
It was a lovely place to stay...as long as you don't have a third party sharing it.

Apparently the site that shall not be named is reporting that a POTC segment will replace the Peter Pan segment in DL's Fantasmic!

Not sure of the legitimacy of this but it wouldn't surprise me. What else will they manage to shove in? Mickey battles Kylo Ren with the new light saber tech? I don't even want to think of the ways they could really butcher this show if they wanted to. Which they seem to want to do lately.

Sweet... lets take the very best portion of the entire live action piece of the show.. and replace it. Genius!

Reeks of cutting out all the stunt performers to me.. and of course the additional floats.

This has been the worst kept secret of the Fantasmic redo. Surprised it took someone this long to post it. I have heard it will be really spectacular though, so fingers crossed.

The article said that there might be projection mapping to make the Black Pearl crew turn to skeletons which honestly sounds cool and innovative to me. I'm still not sure how the final show will turn out but I'm hoping it'll be Fantasmic! for a new generation.

Projection mapping would be difficult to do with live performers, However paint which glows when exposed to UV light on the costumes along with cutting the normal light would probably work just fine and the effect would be just as effective.

Yes - lots of stunt work and really cool effects, as the article said.

Fantasmic has been virtually untouched for almost 25 years, and the original plan was to update it regularly. From what I know the team working on it is a great one and they adore the show. I'm very optimistic for the new show.

Tokyo Disneyland just announced today yet another "renewal" of the Tokyo Disneyland Electrical Parade Dreamlights adding a Frozen float, the return of an enhanced Beauty and the Beast float and some additions/enhancements to the Cinderella unit.

This is for July 2017
Wishing WDW could get the dedication and improvements of Tokyo's executives.
The floats keep getting renewed or fixed there.. here they are mostly left to rot.

DL and TDL and TDS are 'locals' parks so they MUST be refreshed otherwise the locals will stop coming, WDW has the reputation of a 'tourist' location so the rubes need to be happy with whatever we give them attitude reigns supreme.
