A Spirited Dirty Dozen ...

It's so close, why would people need moving walkways or a tram? Freaking walk people.
That's just it.... it's *not* that close. I've said this before, but a moving sidewalk would be a welcome little touch for guests – many of whom will be pushing a stroller – after the end of a long day slogging through the parks. Works pretty well at Universal Orlando... just seems like Disney is cutting costs wherever they can and selecting the cheaper option.

According to Google Maps, from the entrance to DL to where the parking garage is planned is approximately 2,500 feet, or slightly less than 1/2 mile. Whether that is "close" or not is a matter of opinion.

I understand the sentiment. The walk around the parks is pretty hefty, though (depending on how long you stay). I wouldn't suggest taking away the trams, and I wouldn't suggest offering moving walkways.

I honestly would never take away the trams. Resort property transit is important... I just think the argument that it is being cheap they aren't installing moving walkways or a tram is flawed.

Those hotels will no longer have across the street access. You'll either walk about a mile or take a shuttle.

Is this confirmed, or are you just going by the plans you see? I don't see an entrance on the drawing either, but if they are completely cutting off all access from Harbor Blvd., that would mean routing thousands of guests staying on Harbor completely out of their way and then back on a circuitous route. As well as limiting access to restaurants, shops, etc.

I would imagine there would be quite an outcry from both guests and business owners on this

My response would be - so? While I am firmly rooted in the doom and gloom column, this would make smart business sense. Smoke them out and then acquire the properties cheap. I mean, if DLR could take over that whole city block, I think it would be ideal for the fans. Capn Kidds Buffet? Really? No big loss.

Here's how the monorail will be routed along with the Marvel expansion.

Distances. Soil. The fact that Disney already owns all of the land involved in both locales.

If you have done any facilities construction in CA there are dozens of state and local boards which must sign off before the first grain of sand is disturbed not to mention the 6-7 figure permitting fees Not like in FL where RCID and the state of FL do what Disney tells them to.
