A Spirited Dirty Dozen ...

Bullet points-
- Disneyland resort has restructured their leadership
- One Disney is dead (in California)
- Burbank is putting an end to Orlando's ability to influence CA decisions
- This includes shared spending
- Orlando is probably never going to get better
Ugh this all really upsets me. I mean it's good for DLR, but once again it seems like all this will only further elevate the company's treatment of DLR over WDW. WDW is the money maker. TDO are the ones that should be forced to get better. WDW should receive equal, if not better improvements/additions to the the parks. DLR seems to get all the better stuff first, or even get stuff exclusively. Anything unique* that WDW does eventually get seemes to be cloned, plused, and then sent off to DLR and the international parks.

*Avatar at DAK does not count as unique, for Disney has already tried selling it to OLC, and attempted to install it at WDSP.

end of rant.

This is a myth. Disneyland had its own time of cheapening out and there are plenty of issues that remain at the resort. As referenced in numerous articles and even in this very thread, TDO is known for being cheap and pushes back hard at any new spending. TDA on the other hand is pushing for new things constantly. Who do you think Burbank would rather work with?

WDW is the money maker.

From the same Miceage article you referenced "The entire Parks division has seen operating profit increase by 20% compared to last year, but almost all of that is due to increased overall attendance and soaring profit in Anaheim. Michael was diplomatic but very clear in explaining that the other parks around the world have had either flat or slightly lower attendance for the year, with weak earnings at the other properties.

But the Anaheim property has roared through the 60th Anniversary with record crowds and increased spending by those crowds. Anaheim’s Resort District has added 2,000 new hotel rooms in the last 15 months (Great Wolf Lodge, Courtyard Mariott, Holiday Inn, Hyatt House, Marriott Springhill and others), with additional hotel projects currently under construction, and occupancy at the 22,000 hotel rooms now within the Resort District remains at an all-time high. (It’s hard to find a vacancy at the Grand Californian or Disneyland Hotel this summer on Expedia.) The impact to Disneyland is record numbers of domestic and foreign tourists in 2016 spending big bucks."

Right now DLR is carrying the division, not WDW.

Virtually everything at DLR is represented in one form or another at another park somewhere. Much of WDW, especially MK are things cloned from Anaheim.

I'm sorry I was ranting for a bit. It's just very frustrating seeing good things happening else where while WDW is stuck with its tight purse strings. TDO needs a massive shake-up.

@WDW1974 I see you're posting right now, hoping to catch you. :) Do you have any idea why Disney is taking so long to release their Fall 2016 packages/deals/rates? I hope it's not as I fear it will be- they are waiting to see how they can nickel and dime the "experience" ... :cautious:

I am only posting because I had some information to drop, so to anyone asking questions or sending PMs be aware that I may not get to them for a long time ... like a few months.

But I saw your post and I have no idea why that is. I'd also suggest to you what you already know: if you are going to WDW, then you are much better off not staying on property and not buying a dining plan etc. You can save thousands of dollars (literally depending on specifics) doing things your own way.

For anyone that is in the universal know... Is Nintendo expected to compete with SWL or MK 50th? I'd assume 50th since there probably won't be an announcement until next year but not quite sure since apparently Japan's is rumored for 2018. Also will be interesting to see wether they go with two or three attractions. WDW will really need something after the 50th as I'm assuming by then the area by the convention and /or the wnw property will be developed.

Japan is 2020.

That's not a rumor btw. Straight from the horses mouth.

Interesting, I would've thought a bit earlier I'm not sure where I heard that. I'm assuming Nintendo land at UO will be 2021 for MK 50th and whatever that may bring. My thought is that Nintendo will be the last thing the focus on at the original property for a bit until they get the UO south resort with park #3 up and running. Also any news on SLOP my thinking was 19 but I really have no clue.

Want to say I heard order for NintendoLand is Japan first, Cali second, and Orlando Last

oh, memory must be failing me, thought I read over there that Orlando was last since everything it has and is getting.
Remember though that we may not get all of it. There's a possibility that Yoshi's Island could be unique to Japan and Donkey Kong over here. It's pretty confusing so I really hope we just get the official announcement already. The suspense is terrible.
