I respectfully disagree. I feel a giant crime was committed against Walt with this....
Walt's head is coming to kick and chew bubble gum.

Glad the stateside theme parks use Disneys animated Alice as their inspiration for attractions. I really don't like the look or feel of the ones with Depp.
By most accounts, the new "Alice" is simply a terrible movie. The first one wasn't particularly good either, but audiences were still enthralled with the new 3-D popularized by Avatar.
Did you actually see it? I actually thought the first Alice was terrible, but this one was very entertaining. The shadow of the first Alice, and unfairly poor reviews hurt the new one.
Walt's head is coming to kick *** and chew bubble gum.
Uh.... They don't sell bubblegum in the parks
Mary Poppins was practically perfect in every way. The fact they want to make a sequel proves that it's all about the Benjamins.Know that bit about how 'you can never go home again?'
Mary Poppins was the one Disney classic that was above all else. Its the one untouchable film...... and they're going to defile its legacy for a quick buck.
What happened? It fell apart?I bought that same blue DL shirt and the same thing happened to mine. Quality stuff.

Return to Oz was awesome, and the original Wizard of Oz (while also awesome) was not a perfect movie. Most of the stories from the series of books were also not covered in the 1939 film. It always catered to having sequels. The 1939 film was not even the first movie adaptation, and Return was not the only one after either (broadway had the immensely popular Wiz). Though Return is to my knowledge perhaps the only adaptation that tried adapting the other books, it wasn't just another rehash of the original like most other attempts (and Oz the Great and Powerful was an original prequel story, a bad one at that). I will always stick up for Return to Oz regardless, despite there being those who dislike it.They inevitably do it with every classic. Anyone remember Return to Oz? Or the sequel to Gone with the Wind? Nothing is sacred.
Disney and Lucasfilm have announced a high-end series of prop replicas from Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Also of note is that each prop is embedded with an RFID chip to compliment the Certificate of Authenticity.

Mary Poppins on the other hand is about as perfect a movie as you can get. The book had sequels as well as Oz, but the movie wrapped the story of the Banks family up and there is really nowhere left to go with that family. They would have to make new stuff up entirely, or remake the original, both of which we should all be very worried about with the current Disney film studio's reputation for original content...
I also foresee another overly cgi'd mess of visuals. This entire thing reeks of greed and blatant corporate soullessness.
Nah, they will probably move most of their operations to Canada, like a lot of studios have been doing. Aka using interns. It's a pyrrhic victory anyhow now disney will just move animation to singapore.
The worst is, whatever side you're on, you will be insulted, called the worst, either man hater(feminazi) or woman hater(mygosinist). Even if you stay in the middle. This Depp vs Heard garbage is why I hate celeb gossip. I avoid it like the plague whenever possible, but have been unable to escape hearing about this one even when trying.
First it was "Old and ugly Depp beats his lovely innocent wife, she sues and his career is finished". Now the story has morphed to her being a gold digger that has gotten accustomed to a privileged lifestyle and wants to steal all his money. I don't put it past either side lying (the truth may well lie in the middle with both sides being part true).
What a disgusting mess. Blow me to Bermuda.
And this is why you use super glue when you have these figurines for display in public.A Chinese kid knocked down a $15,000 LEGO sculpture of Nick Wilde from Zootopia. Thought this was relevant with the whole Disney China discussion going on.

If we're talking about defiling. Doesnt it means they are defiling the memoirs of both Walt and P. L. Travers? and what about Julie Andrews? who will fill her huge shoes as Mary Poppins?Know that bit about how 'you can never go home again?'

Iger will be overjoyed to see the Walt's spinning head generator producing more power for WDW's infrastructure.Walt's head is coming to kick *** and chew bubble gum.

I'm still optimistic about the Live-Action Beauty And The Beast movie. There's probably going to be two failed films in this year's bunch.
Nobody asked for a Pete's Dragon reboot, nobody seems to be hyped at all for a Pete's Dragon reboot, and nobody asked for Elliott to be redesigned as a giant green dog.
I'd like to hope that the failure of Alice and the inevitable failure of this thing might lead to a re-evaluation of the "Let's stripmine the animation library for live action remakes" strategy, but I doubt it.
If Sausage Party does well, then this might hopefully be a revival of adult animated films that hadn't been a thing since the early 80's or as recent as Ralph Bakshi's Cool World. One difference was Alice was opening against a very hyped up X-Men movie. Pete's Dragon opens against fairly weak competition in a Seth Rogan animated comedy that is geared to a completely different audience.
I'm not saying the movie will do great, but I think with proper marketing, the movie may end up doing better than Alice 2. What that number is though is TBD.
Seeing the Burton ones used for Shanghai looks so out of place. I mean some of the characters are smiling and a bit more happy in the Alice Maze in Shanghai compared to how they were in the original film.Glad the stateside theme parks use Disneys animated Alice as their inspiration for attractions.
