Also, it was 100% clear from the first time you see him in blackface that his character is a broad satire of actors who take themselves too seriously. Context is everything.

While I agree with you, there are arguments to be made that blackface is unacceptable regardless of the circumstances. We have to acknowledge that our society evolves and we rethink what is degrading and/or offensive.

There are certainly arguments, but there are also arguments that no subject should be taboo as long as the usage of the offensive situation/behavior is used in order to illuminate the negative aspect of society and, by making it a target of satire, diminishing its power.

I mentioned it and someone else posted a video but it kind of got lost in the various discussions going on.

I agree with you. I mean... really? Maybe you shouldn't be vacationing at Disney. The reality is, they're expensive. You are in a theme park. And the bizarre thing is how many defended the looters! Some see it as "justified". It's just mind boggling. It's also illegal to, you know, steal. I guess not in China?

It's like rioting. Why are you destroying a store and stealing from them?

I'm guessing many people haven't watched shows like All in the Family ... I'm sure women could have a field day with shows from the 50s and 60s, like I Love Lucy where they play up certain things for a laugh but many would be absolutely outraged.

If someone wants to be outraged, they will be. We're just in a time where most people are overly sensitive and ready to fight (I hope no one takes this the wrong way; I'm not talking about those who truly have a cause to fight for or those who truly have to fight every day for equality, acceptance and to not be killed just walking down the street). To me, worrying about things like this or a scene on a boat ride in Disney World that most guests gloss over, to me, isn't really fighting for the cause.

It’s all on film, so if Chinese authorities and/or Disney wanted to charge them/ban them from property, they could probably do it.

China just started a ‘social credit’ program too, which could hinder the futures of the guests (if you haven’t read up on it.... it’s insane, and straight out of science fiction).

I really do think I need to read up more on some things regarding China, lol. I'll look into that too.

Imagine if WDW guests did that on a regular basis or even once? Especially with those that feel entitled .. "the world owes me something so gimme" ...

Back to China, I'm kind of shocked it doesn't happen more on a regular basis if that's the attitude so many have.

Honestly, I see China implementing this at the park (if people wait patiently in line, or if they litter), so I'm curious to see what Disney's response will be. Sure, we're all tracked via MagicBand or MDE anyways, but we're not barred from going into Flight of Passage or Be Our Guest from doing something we're not supposed to do.

I visited Epcot in September of 2006. Hard to believe El Rio del Tiempo, Wonders of Life and the original O'Canada!* were all still around then. Like Pirates before Johnny Depp (2005) it feels much longer ago than it was.

In retrospect, it would have been really cool if the first minute or so of El Rio Del Tiempo was twice as long. Like the similar section on the Jungle Cruise, there's something uniquely wonderful and "Disney" about presenting a flooded temple to guests with the intent not to scare them, but simply to have them share in the experience of being in a forgotten sacred space.
