Let’s hope this is the quiet way of killing the proposal for good.

I really hope not. It is a really good idea on a lot of levels. I just don't get where people keep yelling at the Academy to change and get with the times, then flip the hell out when they want to try something new. The Best Picture category has always been problematic, particularly when viewed historically - there is room for more than one film to be recognized from a calendar year.

Worried there might be a bunch of "NearTheEars" imposters?

Haha, no. I was actually recruited for a job down here and decided to move. I had never even stepped foot in Florida until the week of my interview. So it was just a coincidence I ended up “neartheears.” But I quickly became a WDW fan.

As I said, I think he means well. And after listening to the first of the two-part episode he has folks on with him that moved for different reasons. I just worry about the people that are obsessed and think coming to Otown or nearby will be some fairytale because they can get an AP and dine at Epcot every night.

In the end, it’s probably none of my business.

Serious question: why does it worry you? I mean people can move there, get an AP and eat in Epcot every night. Do you mean that people will fail if they try to do it? That it's not as easy as it looks? Or do you mean you're worried about more population? (I know I don't want more people moving to my town!) Not arguing...just curious!

Definitely just worried that people will fail or struggle just to try and make their Disney dreams come true.

I’ve read of people quitting their professional careers to come down and work housekeeping. There is a certain point where it isn’t a good idea

Aka 66 USD, 51.54 Pounds, 54.71 Euros. Cheapest disney park

Every Disney park outside the the US offers some form of free halloween entertainment included in park tickets. Meanwhile the price increase at MK should mean a new parade every year... but the same old boring parade rolls out every year.

Even disneyland offers some great overlays for attractions at both parks, yet in Florida the halloween activities are kept to MK. Even a pre parade to festival of fantasy would be welcome, much like DLP offers.

I feel the US is lacking massively behind other parks for their offering - unless you are willing to pay for a hard ticket, and still not get the same production quality as you get in Asia and Europe.

Can't wait to experience DLP Halloween in a few weeks! Although, having their only "Party Night" on a midweek Halloween night is a bummer..

Hong Kong Disneyland even has their own Villains show during the Halloween season which just began last year. And it's amazing!

As much as I am glad they are keeping Hallowishes, I can't believe they didn't enhance the show with the new projection tech. It looks almost antiquated. To be charging as much as they are for the experience, I can't believe they were so lazy.

MDE is having some major issues right now. I lost the ability to see my tickets on the desktop, and on the app I basically lost everything: resort reservations, FP+, and dining reservations.

This is the response I got on chat support this morning, bolding is mine:

"We apologize, unfortunately at this time, our system is still going through a magical enhancement that is affecting Guests’ ability to see previously linked tickets, make FastPass+ selections and see correct Family and Friends list information. We currently have not been notified of a resolution time. I would suggest that you come back later today or contact our Internet Help Desk, they can verify any itinerary information for you or assist you with attempting to make any FastPass+ selections."

Ha! When I was at Amazon and the site would crash, we told people that we were "upgrading the system." Yeah. Upgrading the system from non-working to working again.

Either something good is being added, or they should change the wording to ‘Ursula and Maleficent cast a spell on our site and we’re battling the forces of evil to set things right again’.

It’s super frustrating for me, but I can’t imagine how ticked off guests who are currently there must feel.
