Yeah, I agree. Disney doesn't give a damn. The film has already made over $200 million...and a majority of this years big box office hits have been Disney films. Disney is rolling in it.
From the looks of it, Disney did give a damn: they just caved in.

Press vs big monopoly entertainment giant 1-0.

Craven and petty bullying by Disney indeed. If not rather more sinister yet, considering the issue at stake is Disney trying to silence free press coverage of its dealings with Anaheim politics.

The power of the RT and Metacritic say otherwise. Movies have tanked due to critical response. One may have small power but the fact more keep joinng this movement against the mouse doesn't bode well.

I thought they were upset with the slanted view more than anything. Making such a big deal about the parking ramp in the first 6 paragraphs probably set them off.

Hard not to be slanted on a ramp, though.

Disney doesn’t like this story and it staying in the news with boycotts isn’t good for their reputation. An Oscars boycott, to be broadcast on Disney owned ABC, wouldn’t be good for them.

You guys understand that Disney has unquestionably drawn more attention to the LA Times pieces than they received upon their publication, right?

The 'Streisand Effect' writ large, Also a useful litmus test about management style which is similar to current POTUS i.e. a temper tantrum when things don't go the Prez of Disney's way, Cross that candidate off in 2020

Of course they did. But they got their point across, didn't they.

if their point was to shine a light on the the story they disliked, then yeah they sure did. The two articles were gone and buried after a day or two. As soon as Disney responded the story became the #1 read story on the LA Times website for multiple days, something it failed to do on its initial run.

It showcased Disney as sensitive and petty and news outlets will not change how they cover Disney at all. Not one bit.

If Disney buys 20th Century Fox, what kind of rights does that give them for theme parks?

Every one of their movies has like five production companies and then them as the distributor, I suppose that doesn't give Disney any rights? My Titanic ride idea will still have to wait? But my Deadpool ride is coming to the Magic Kingdom? I must know, help me out.

A Titanic overlay/addition to The Living Seas...?

Probably an Ice Age replacement for Dinorama that turns Triceratops Spin into some Scrat's Acorns spinner.

Ewww, hell no. Echo lake in DHS would be expanded and a life-size RMS Titanic would be near the far end. It would house a ton of unique things other than the ride, possibly including a restaurant, theater, even a hotel. It could also serve as a backdrop for a nighttime spectacular on the water. The stellar ride would be indoor/outdoor where you experience the ship sinking and all, and of course it'd be based on the JC movie. The Titanic held a lot of glitz and glamour in its glory until disaster struck, not unlike the stellar eye-catching attraction on the other side of the park. There would be striking similarities in storytelling. This would be a great beautiful addition, fit the theme of the park better than most other, and be a great multi-purpose facility which I feel Disney could do more often.

I'm rambling, and will one day post in full in the Imagineering section, but that's the gist of the idea.
