A theory regarding The Three Cabelleros show- Disney is trying to replicate how Netflix pushes their shows. Netflix doesn’t always make a big deal about its shows appearing on their platform, they just show up. Then Netflix watches how its members consume the show and discuss it on SM platforms like Facebook and Twitter. Once their marketing teams have this data, they then begin a formal marketing campaign.

I'm having a feeling Disney won't make an official announcement of this series in the US until mid to late 2019. Once they reveal more about their streaming service.

This is exactly what happened. Lasseter was getting jealous of all the attention being paid to Marvel and Star Wars at Disneyland, and Pixar Pier was proposed as a quick and cheap way to placate him. Nobody at WDI liked the idea, but everyone went along with the idea anyway. And Lasseter's "requests" on the project became increasingly weird and intrusive.

The sad part? From what I understand, the final greenlight came through mere weeks before the Lasseter scandals started emerging. Frankly, with his increasingly diva-ish behavior around WDI, I think many were glad to be rid of his influence.
Thanks for the confirmation. That being said, I'm sad to hear that we might've been so close to avoiding it entirely. Whenever the cards are against the parks, one of the most disappointing things to hear is that Disney was on the verge of making the right decision.

Wish his ousting would've come in time to spare us Toy Story Kiddieland too. :depressed:
I'm not sure if that could've avoided in the same way Pixar Pier could've been. Aside from pleasing Lasseter, that area was built for two important operational reasons. To add much needed family friendly attractions and to preserve TSMM through the expansion of that area of the park. However, the fact that there's a now a Toy Story Land at every Disney Resort except for DLR and TDR is definitely has to do with the influence of Lasseter.

The intro is already on youtube, but the link I posted from streamable is higher quality. Still if anyone needs an embedded one and doesn't want to click that-

Still low quality recording at the moment, looks like someone just filmed it off the TV from their phone. Much appreciated regardless though.

Great to finally see the show in motion. If the Disney Interactive team can make a show of this quality, then Disney should put all TV and streaming series based on its classic characters in their hands. Television animation has doing them been doing them a great disservice as of late, so I wish this change would happen ASAP.

I think we are viewing it with some nostalgia goggles on. I’m glad they are doing this, but the animation quality isn’t great. I think folks are just happy this is closer to the traditional character models.

Isn’t Disney Interactive also currently in charge of Muppet Studios? Not sure if that stuck in the recent reorg.

Then again that might be due to the video quality.

It feels a lot like the current DC quality of things like Tangled. Which is alright, but not great.

Overall I’m glad they are using classic characters more again, I think those Mickey shorts helped Identify more of a market.

The animation may not be movie quality, but neither were any of Disney's series in the 90's or 2000's. It certainly looks better than any series using the classic characters in the past 5 to 10 or so. Yes, the show's use of traditional character models is the primary reason people are getting hooked on it, but that alone is such a breath of fresh air these days to the point where it deserves to be applauded.
