No he doesn't. No one person or even small group of people run this country. Especially those in Washington. Most people see no difference in who runs Washington or Disney or even Universal. Most people live paycheck to paycheck and could not care less who runs Disney. Most people will never have the pleasure of an Orlando Vacation or even a vacation to a low cost regional thermepark or even go anywhere for a vacation. Those here on this site have no idea how the majority of the people live.

Nice fantasy, the reality is whoever owns the largest number of congresscritters runs the country, Ol Rupert is up there with wholly owned congresscritters.

Fake news.

A very small group of people will get all the benefits of the tax bill, but because they run the country, a tax bill that is very unpopular in polls is about to be passed.

Note: sorry about the politics, but Spirit's threads seem to have more leeway than others for that.

All he sees is revenue per sq foot.

And it's guys like Murdoch who have destroyed the careers of ordinary americans so they can pursue their quest for money and power.

I DONT like Iger and think he's a bad CEO but compared to any of the Murdochs he's Mother Teresa

I think those who complain about Fox are really expressing their political views. Please give specific cases where Murdoch destroyed someone. Fox reported news just like the other networks. They have a bias towards Republicans just like MSNBC, CNN, ABC and NBC do towards Democrats. This is not a political complaint and if it is considered one then all the posts against the Murdoch's should be removed too.

Zero to do with politics the Murdochs are corporate raiders in the media space. They make their riches by buying companies and firing most of the staff. Selling some units and keeping others.

Boston Herald for one, Murdoch bought the Herald-American made the staff re-apply for their jobs most of them did not get their jobs back.

I happen to believe that a robust media business representing views across the pollitcal spectrum is essential to a functioning society.

Efforts by guys like the Murdochs to turn media into a corporate monoculture hurt everyone.

To make it a bit plainer the Murdochs are the modern media equivalent of 'Neutron Jack' of GE fame i.e. The companies are still there but the people are gone the ordinary workers who were thrown out with the trash.
