Well, looks like Shanghai's Toy Story Land is more of the same.

Hmm. Looks like this expansion is going to have a comparatively large...footprint?

In whatever incarnation, Mater's is just a FUN ride!
At least WDI’s getting its money’s worth for the nine figure development costs of that whip ride platform. Every Disney resort but DLPR will have one by 2020.
Nicer skin then what we're getting in Florida. Woody's Roundup has been sorely underutilized when it comes to all these Toy Story attractions.
With the Buzz/Green Alien version for DHS, why did we need another Buzz attraction?

Yup. We need to get away from this idea that if it hasn't been big in the iPhone era, then it has no place in the parks. You update things. You freshen them. But people still love old movies. Even spoiled Millennials. The idea that because something is years or decades old that it has no appeal to people is BS of the highest magnitude.

You don't need a raccoon with a machine gun to be relevant. Will Rocket be relevant in 2026? How about 2035? Will people care or recall him sorta like comic fanbois recall Howard the Duck?

My bet is on 'Howard the Duck' if its remembered at all, its more akin to the 'creature features' which used to air on saturday afternoons on the local 'Independent' TV station. Fun to watch yes, memorable no.

Wait, nine figures to develop a ride that's been around since the heydey of boardwalks and Coney Island?

My husband is one of those weirdos that watches Howard every time it's on TV/Cable and LOVED that they included him in Guardians, lol.
