A Spirited 15 Rounds ...

I was gonna skip The Orville (not really a MacFarlane fan)...but based on your recommendation, I watched the third episode. First, who knew how important Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer was when making sex reassignment decisions for alien children!? I mean, wow! Second, what the heck did I just watch? lol! Was that big budget Star Trek fan fiction? Was that supposed to be a comedy? It definitely felt like Star Trek at times, but in the end it's probably not for me. I think I would prefer the show if it could choose whether it was trying to be a Seth MacFarlane comedy or a more serious Star Trek like science fiction show. Right now it comes across to me as trying to ride the fence between the two but in doing so it just doesn't work for me. I'm sure it will have its fans though and more power to them. I'm glad I watched at least one episode though so thanks for posting.

Not for everyone, I get that, and again I would say watch Episode 4 titled "If the Stars should Appear". No where near as "jokey" in a mcfarlene sense. After that, I'll give up getting you hooked :)

I told myself I wasn't gonna watch the trailer cause I didn't want to see any spoilers. Well that lasted less than 8 hours. Holy cow!!! I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!! :joyfull::joyfull::joyfull:

lots of twists....after the first flick I was sadly expecting a rewrite of the original films....you know star killer base....the one weakness....the falcon ect but now....maybe rey joins with whine bag.

Ok, here's the truth. I've been watching them and actually like the show now but I'm still kind of annoyed by the humor sometimes. However, I have to say when Isaac pulled his practical joke on Gordon I almost fell out of my chair laughing. And how are they getting these guest stars!? Not as good as Discovery imo...but I do admit I'm gonna follow through and watch the series and have been enjoying it. :)

I'd say it's pretty mixed, though I too was disappointed with the first 2 episodes. Will try the next eventually.
It definitely gets better. Once you are on Discovery it becomes a great show imo...and very different than the 1st two episodes. And by the way, the captain of Discovery is a very different kind of Starfleet captain. This is gonna be an interesting season.

I noticed the primarily female cast, no real male characters. Sorry but Star Treks audience is mostly male. I would say that show is doomed. I turned it off after about 45 minutes, just didn't like it. Coming from a guy who has watched every episode of Star Trek, ST Next Gen and Deep Space 9. The other ST shows I didn't like.

Jason Isaacs is just a walk-on, eh?

Remember some time ago when Disney went crazy with arcades based on a law that might've lumped them in with gambling? Looks like they've got no problem with following along with EA and in a way going to an all new low when it comes to big video game development and micro transactions for randomized loot boxes in games that already cost $60.

I really hope lawmakers eventually notice this crap and regulation reigns it in. It's really getting ridiculous that what used to come standard or unlocked through simply getting better at a game now has to be gambled for or received incredibly slowly through a grind to make the payments look more attractive.

So far, Disney has refused to comment publicly on Weinstein’s Miramax years.

Disney sources emphasize that Miramax operated under then-CEO Michael Eisner with autonomy, a level that would not be tolerated today at the company under the current Bob Iger regime. Miramax’s financial activity was not heavily scrutinized so long as the company stayed within its yearly budget.

Even if Disney were shown to have behaved improperly or to have created a hostile work environment, legal action would likely be deemed outside the statute of limitations. Eisner did not respond to multiple interview requests.

“That’s long gone,” said Debbie Katz, a Washington, D.C., harassment and discrimination lawyer. “I don’t think Disney has any liability. I don’t think Miramax has any liability.”

Charles Elson, chair of corporate governance at the University of Delaware, said that the Weinstein settlements with Miramax employees are “certainly an
embarrassment” for Disney, but because the amount of money paid out wouldn’t materially impact the company’s bottom line, investors can’t argue they should have been informed.

To be fair that was a law passed by the great state of Florida where it’s legal to shoot someone for just about any reason but illegal for kids to win tickets playing Skee Ball. All that excessive heat and humidity must do something to your brain.

My point is that this actually is closer to gambling and should have a law against it. It uses all the same tactics as slot machines and even gives a distinct advantage to those who pay.

Oh, and Florida isn't the only crazy place in the world. In California it's no longer a felony to purposefully infect someone with HIV or even donate infected blood.

Given Disney's recent behavior is it any surprise that that in game upcharges would be added to the Star Wars games.

To me, saying that Disney has any role in this is like saying an incident happened at Walt Disney World when it actually happened down the street. I don't see how Disney is at fault for the actions of one man who has no ties to The Walt Disney Company currently.
