Oh, also looking forward to seeing the new Star Trek Discovery. I am sure it will entertain me significantly more than any SW product that has been produced since Reagan was in the White House (will refrain from any added one-liner that might hurt the feelings of any snowflakes who will run to Mom with tears in their eyes!)

Looks good so far not a fan of the re-imagining of the Klingons though the look is wrong, They look reptilian rather than humanoid.

Anyone seen the new Star Trek yet? I've always been a fan of the TV shows, hope this one can live up to the others. The movies were less like what I expect from Star Trek.

And since you haven't seen his name here in quite a while, Lou Mongello is still alive and on an AbD tour of China, along with Beci (the head of his affiliated travel agency).

I was going to bring that up to you. Seems like they are actually out seeing the sights outside of the parks in Hong Kong and Shanghai.

The first episode was good. But, you have to pay the CBS All Access subscription fee to see the rest of the series.

We watched the first episode on CBS, and liked it, but didn't go to their all access channel to watch the second hour. We are trying to cut the cord, and get our TV as cheap as possible. So if it is not on a service we already have, we won't be seeing it.

Be careful - you might get confused while watching (don't adjust your set!) - once they start casually communicating over long distances with life-sized holograms, like they are the space telephones in Star Wars. Except these are in color. Because that totally makes sense in a show set ten years before Kirk and Spock.

I really enjoyed the first episode of Discovery! I am not a huge Star Trek fan, but I have seen all of the movies and a lot of TNG. The alien races are interesting and there are some really interesting dynamics that I am looking forward to seeing them explore.

You can get a 7-day free trial, so if you sign up now you can watch the 1st and 2nd episodes for free. Or you can wait to sign up for the free trial until after the 3rd episode has been released and see the first 3 episodes free.

I enjoyed both episodes (Thank you Netflix) Yes there are things that are jarring, the new look of the Klingons and tech that doesn't look like 10 years before TOS but I can move past it and not cry and complain about it online (As it wont do any good anyway :p). Over all i look forward to the rest of the season.

Or you can wait until the first season is done and sign up for the free period and binge the whole season. Or, wait until CBS finds out no one wants to pay $6 month for CBS shows and shuts it down or becomes bundled with some other provider.

That's what I'm doing for Mr. Mercedes. It on flippin' AT&T. You can stream the first 2 eps for free. So after they are all up, I going to do the free 7 day trial and binge.

I loved the books, and Brenden Gleeson is amazing. Warning! It is very intense television
Not for the timid.
