Rain and wind still coming in bands here. We've lost a few small tree branches and lots of leaves, but nothing too severe yet. The local TV stations have shown nothing but hurricane stuff all day.....

Yay, congrats Auntie Jo! We are also on deck 9 on the Fantasy, in a 10A. Hoping to upgrade at the port to a verandah. That's what we did this past August on the Dream. If we can't, I'm sure the virtual porthole will be cool.

So was the last night as bad as some people on the Dis are making it out to be? There's a hundred page or so long thread called "just spend a terrifying night on the Fantasy". Seems some people were afraid for their lives and others were like, eh it was rocky but no big deal. So, which is the truth? Or is the truth somewhere in the middle?

Hi Diane and Betty! So we ended up losing power from 4 yesterday afternoon until 1:30 a.m. Blech. And the worse of it is the kids had school cancelled both today and yesterday. So, we're already at 2 make up days and winter isn't even here yet!! This really worries me. If we have a bad winter the kids could be in school until the 4th of July. Good thing our summer vacation is in August. I would be freaking out if we had something booked for June.

My son still has no power on Long Island, but at least he is safe.My daughter's enjoying the day off from school.

I'm so glad you guys and your families are safe and well, the storm is constantly on our tvs here in the UK, I can't imagine having to live through that my prayers are with the families of those lost. I will never moan about our boring 'windy' weather again.
