My birthday's the first of May, but we have guests in town that week, so we're going from the 7th to the 14th. Dave had a free ticket , so it only cost us about $200 round trip for the 2 of us!

i am paying 540 to go from memphis to chicago for thanksgiving. this is more then i paid when i went from boston to san gran for a cousins wedding. i had to fly out of boston because it happened to be our two weeks at the cape. I do not even want to know how much it will be for christmas break. also chicago to memphis flight is 1.5 hours. boston-san fran. 6 hours. how messed up is that

The airlines know they have you over a figurative barrell when it comes to holiday/school break travel. My only solace is we will rack up Rapid Rewards points with our April flights, since they cost so much. Then we can use the points to purchase tickets on a future, not so expensive flight.

i know right and i cannot use my miles because of blackout days.... now a days any holiday that warrants a day off is a black out period

That really got me with Southwest Rapid rewards. When I first signed up with the program it was so simple, and there were no blackout dates. I had saved a reward to use for our February trip a few years ago, and then when I went to use it, that date was blocked out and the flights for just the 2 of us to fly to FL were going to be about $1200 total.

Betty, SW doesn't do that anymore. They revamped the RR program and there no longer blackout dates. We used RR points to purchase our tickets for our flights over Christmas this year.

Yes - I'm still figuring out that whole system. I liked it when it was simpler - take x number of flights - get 1 free.

I may need to get myself a coffee IV. I'm falling alseep at my desk and after work it's straight home, make dinner, and get the kiddies to a strength & conditioning class for hockey. It's going to be a long few hours and all I want is my pillow!!

I must admit I'm a bit stuffed already, my dad has decided to cook meat pies as a hobby, a few days ago he brought me some cottage pie for lunch (I work with him) and he also made me a steak pie to take home for dinner! Very heavy food for one day!

Today he brought in some more cottage pie and this time he made a chicken and mushroom pie for my dinner! I'm slightly bloated!

I've been promised a steak and ale pie for Sunday!!! Toooo much pastry overload!!!!

Luckily I have 3 days off work now so no more pie till I return on Sunday! Bless him!

Please refrain from cooking anything pastry based for a while please! I won't be partaking! *searches for vomit smilie*
