A Florida-based film for Soarin'.....ever happening?

Do I need to repeat that no one was COMPARING Soarin' to AA? Or are you just not reading?

Most of the locations aren't vague, that is unless you have zero knowledge of California. Golden Gate Bridge? Napa Valley? Yosemite National Park? I could go on. And since you asked, there's 12 sights visited in the film. So there you have a CA resident telling you they've seen maybe 4 of them in real life.

lmao, I misread- chill out. This isn't srs bsns.

:ROFLOL:

Deep breaths.

Deeeeep breaths.

I seem to remember

beach, golf course, snow mountain, orange grove, city, another city, white water sports, desert... pretty vague aside from the obvious unless, of course, you wiki it

:ROFLOL:

I always found DCA to be one of the most unique Disney parks. I thought the park was always great (instead of superstar limo). Everything was themed so great. The sensation of stepping through a postcard is so unique I never understood the hate. But I know I'm bout to hear the reasons:
1. There's no magic
2. The rides aren't Disney (really? Space mountain is just a roller coaster, which are found at carnivals).
3. It's small. (well there's no land really left. Dl resort was always small).

Now what are the other complaints?

Everyone has their opinions.

But that's a big one you can't fix. Does it take 1 billion dollars to fix? Hopefully!

The reason the film works is the reason the theme of DCA works. The state has all these different environments as mentioned above - the desert, the beaches/boardwalks, farmlands, vineyards, Hollywood and the movies, mountains, forests. Add to that diverse cultures and multi-ethnic population, which allows other themes to work within that environment (such as the mexican and chinese cuisines served at the Cannery Row area of the park, for example). It allows for plenty of themes to work with.

Anyway, Soarin over the World would be a perfect fit for EPCOT. Let's hope it happens sooner rather than later.

You seem to take the internet more seriously than anyone else, judging by your OMG RELAX!!1111 :ROFLOL::ROFLOL:reactions. It's never as serious as you seem to think it is.

As for the rest of your comment, perhaps you should read up on California and its landmarks.

Your argument is based upon your ideas of what the film could contain. Topography does not make a film. A film director makes a film.
(I'm not talking in the literal sense, so don't even go there)

What do you have against water, most all of the scenes in California contain earthen elements...so does that make them similar?

I don't have anything against water. I love water, and beaches, and rivers. I guess I'm just not getting my point across affectively.

Los Angeles, Malibu, San Diego, Palm Springs, Lake Tahoe....I'm naming these off the top of my head.

Unless you have zero knowledge of California these are hardly nameless places.

Let's be realistic here and realize they will never create a Soarin' Over Florida film. Soarin' Over California is staying at The Land for at least the next few years, and if a new film is to be created it will probably be Soarin' Over The World.

Busch Gardens Williamsburg already got Soarin' Over Europe last year in the form of their Europe In The Air Soarin' knock-off, so that theme is shot. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oY_MNXtHXUs

Florida can be lovely from ground level. But from the air it's very flat and devoid of interesting topography and features.

I look forward to Soarin' Over California being redone in digital IMAX instead of the film version from '01. And one thing I'd change is re-shooting the Lake Tahoe scene where the skiers jump off the ledge and then the camera swoops over the ridge to see the lake. The day they filmed it the lake was socked in with fog and you can't see anything but clouds. That scene in Soarin' with the skiers was supposed to reveal this type of image of gorgeous Lake Tahoe;

I'm actually surprised they didn't just digitally edit out the low cloud cover over the lake and add in the bright blue water. They added the hang-glider over Yosemite and the golf ball over Palm Springs digitally, so why not remove the clouds and show the lake?
