A Flap in the Right Direction

The trend for Future World was to get rid of "Edutainment" (I'm not sure if you hate the concept or the word :veryconfu).

It appears to me that the new Epcot team is emphasizing what made Epcot Center so compelling. I think it is a long overdue strategy and praise worthy. What they coulda, woulda, shoulda done is in the past is no longer of any consequence. There is a new sheriff and the only thing that counts in Future World is the Future. :)

It's more like a nod, and a tiny one, at that. If anything, they just fixed something.

I'm not complaining, mind you...I'm happy this is back. Always was a nice diversion in SeaBase Alpha.

Keep in mind they are doing these things on a shoe string. But if they prove popular, my guess is we will see significant investment in bringing back the original ideals of Epcot Center!

Pssst, I know what I'm talking about.

It was a parody of the over the top whining of the doom and gloom crowd.
It would look something like this...

...Wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh :cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry:

Both. Actually, I like the word beter than the concept.

Don't see how that relates to fixing the dive tube.
It was just broken, now it's fixed.
It was never closed as part of a theme or concept change or anything.
Simple maintenance is all it is. Nothing exceptional, should be expected.

:rolleyes:. That is how the doom and gloomers come off. I believe if there were not pages complaining about how Disney announced the holiday offerings, there would be pages complaining about some other trivial matter. WDW74 has become the boy who cried wolf.

It is the news and RUMORS thread. And I stand by my opinions about the news and rumors until facts prove otherwise.

You come off as desperate to find something positive in the news in order to prove yourself right.. It's a good quality, and don't take this the wrong way, :)) ) but it's kind of silly when there's nothing to really jump over.

Incidentially, there's the HoP...That's something.:D

So now celebrating a refurb, something that should be done anyway, is what we have come down to?? Really??? Wow, WDW is sinking lower and lower is this is the case...

JTyou are grasping at straws to show the sheriff, who was outwitted by the Chinese, and came across looking WEAK, is working on the 'big plan"... this is not progress...

Couldn't disagree more with you about the concept of the original Future World. I believe it is what Walt Disney had in mind when he first conceived the idea of "Tomorrowland". And if you ever see him talk about Tommorowland I think you will see my point.

Again, there seems to be a new emphasis on original EC/FW ideals. I think that is good!

And just a mention, because it's in the same vein.... I think the UoE Painting was more of a news bit.:lookaroun
I know I got excited for that.

No it is just a little tidbit that undermines your view point. I didn't offer it up as any big news, just another example that your doom and gloom is nothing but fanboy temper tantrums.

Yet it gets a thread, and a WAY TO GO TDO.:lookaroun:rolleyes::lol:
Me too! It's all adding up.

I agree there. Maintenance issues are being addressed one by one. Something they SHOULD be doing though. The only reason it's a big deal nowadays is because it's something that slipped.

Precisely.
It's a sad day when we are reduced to applauding routine maintenance.

Now...when I see an announcement like "Disney Announces New Weather Pavillion To Replace Wonders of Life"....then I will give them a "Way to go."

Otherwise...I won't get excited over them doing what they should be doing anyway. Seriously....Woo-Hoo! New lightbulbs! Way to go!

 Heck, even a successful refurb ala HoP.

Than again, it's embellishing something they should be doing right in the first place.

The "way to go tdo" was a response to my view being attacked by 20k. Go back and read the thread. I posted something I thought would be interesting to people and it was. Then ones of the DAGS swoops in and attacks. I was just opening up a thread to discuss that this feature was back. There was no call for 20k's snide attitude. So I responded. That is how it always works. I never attack, I only defend when warrented.

That is my whole point. These routine fixes were being ignored until recently. New Sheriff's changes are spreading throughout TWDC. Accept it, cuz it's true.

I've been reading the thread, jt. Attack? He was talking to you. So was I.

I guess I attacked you too, by deductive reasoning?:lookaroun:lol:

New Sheriff? To whom do you give the amusing title to?:lookaroun:lol:

Careful, Lee. You're about to be branded a "doom and gloom"er. And you don't want ANY PART OF THAT. Although the monthly meetings are swell! The Kungalooshes flow all evening, and we plan out who will post what in order to further our plot of unseating Iger while we watch Harry Potter movies and look at pictures of Main St. and try to count burned out light bulbs. :lookaroun
