A Few Observations

Just got back from the World and had quite a bit to mentally digest. I really can't believe that I'm back home...sigh.

Here are a few things I noticed:

1. With the exception of yesterday, the waterfall/Davy Jones effect in Pirates was broken deteriorating by the day. Saturday, it was fixed-although the hat pirate still was missing his headgear.

2. I rode the new version of Spaceship Earth. Did they remove the animated chariots from the background of the "First World Wide Web" scene? They used to be there. I was wondering if the effect was broke-or just changed.

3. Angler fish in The Seas was broken the entire time I was there. During one ride, about half of the audio tracks did not work. The shark that pokes out his nose didn't move, but hissed with hydraulics.

4. I noticed lots of families will push their kids in strollers, up until the venerable age of 10. I've never seen so many kids being pushed around, and the Magic Kingdom was a terrible parking lot.

5. I really enjoyed the upgraded MILF, although I believe that the 3rd act with the send-in jokes is really the weakest and probably would be best as a warm-up act.

6. The Dark Ages in Spaceship Earth smell just like the Flame Tree Barbeque. Think about it.

7. Got stuck on Space Mountain on Saturday, but talked to a great cast member-and even got to ride it a second time.

8. People driving electric carts are magically attracted to my wife's legs. An entire passage can be devoid of all other people and she will be aimed at.

9. Given the right circumstances, random people you meet can give you the best memories.

10. I have to go back.

1) The mist projection is ruined by air drafts from wrongly aimed / set aircon and similar. Or perhaps the bulb was just broken. DACS... where are you?

2) Yep, sadly the last original projected animation has gone from Epcot. Rome is now a Roman generic showscene.

3) Oh dear. And to think this was the version that got the bigger budget!

I agree that the 3rd act is weak. They should just have two acts of Buddy Boil!

I noticed the POTC malfunctions as well on Friday and the Anglerfish on Saturday.

And the counter service food was horrendous, especially at Restaurantosaurus today and a close second to Pecos Bill at MK. Awful.

The angler fish was broken for my whole trip 9/6-9/14 as well. It really stuck out like a sore thumb, because I really loved the rest of the ride. Having it just sit there with no movement or effects looks HORRIBLE. Can't they come up with an angler B mode?

I leave in 13 days, I will have to pay attention to see if they fix any of these ride malfunctions... you would think Disney would be on top of these maintnence issues.... as far as the Mummy being broken at Universal, thank god, that thing scared the crap out of me

It looked to me like they had given up on the angler fish, as there is now a static Marlin in the scene, and the angler doesn't move at all. However, dory still pops on the screens to the sides, which seems weird.

Am I the only one that did a double take on that one? I'd never seen it abbreviated like that. I didn't know if Sarah Palin was at WDW or if there was a new ride that I just had to see ASAP. :ROFLOL:

Im not sure what this is a DISNEY abbreviation for but it needs to be changed ASAP....because in "hip world" it has a whole different NON DISNEY meaning.

Get your mind out of the gutter!:wave:
