A Dreamy Kind of Vacation!! Topped off by 4 Parks in One Day!

Wow, wow, wow. It was just amazing. I love cruises, this was my 6th, and this ship did not disappoint!!:sohappy:

What: This was a Disney Dream preview cruise. Earmarked agencies like Kingdom Konsultants were able to attend. This was the cruise before the maiden voyage. Pam was awesome and took as many agents as she could.

Who: This ended up being another girl’s cruise! My hubby’s base is preparing for a large inspection so he knew he couldn’t get away. I just took the kids out of school in October for a week at WDW, so they were out! Girl's cruise!

Here’s me, travel agent forced to go to Disney and take Disney cruises as often as possible. Now a preview cruise on the Dream? Man this job just keeps getting harder.:

My sister. See the resemblance?

My mom. She’s been on a few of my cruises and did not want to miss this one!

DisneyDream439_filtered.jpg

My dear friend Misty. She is a Disney fanatic. Has been as long as I’ve known her. When I called and asked her to go, she was literally screaming into the phone! Now that's the kind of reaction I like!

Last but certainly not least, several of the Kingdom Konsultants were on this cruise, so here we are! Not a great picture, but it's a funny story that will be told later in the trip report. :lookaroun From left to right here's Marie, Richard, Pam, Me and Jenell:

After Christmas ended, I felt like I was finally able to get excited for this trip. The first thing I did after all my out of town company left was get out my suitcase!! :sohappy: The next thing I did was look at our flight times again. As it was, I was the last to arrive. I can’t stand that!! My sister and mom would be calling me from Disney and torturing me while I was still in transit! I decided to call United and see what they could do about that. Well what do you know, they had an earlier flight they could switch me to! I was getting there 30 minutes after the first person to arrive, my sister. I wasn’t even going to let her leave the airport without me!

It's going to take a few days to process all of my pics so this report may take a while! Here's a sneak preview though. This is a video of our first trip down the Aqua Duck! You have a lovely view of my toes in this video. I don't know if this will work or not. If no one can start the video let me know:

Back onboard!

I was killing time while we took turns in the shower. I swung by the fitness room for a pic, not a workout sadly!

Tonight for our predinner dinner we ordered room service. Love free room service!

Flat Stanley visited the Bahamas:

After we got ready, we checked out some of the interactive artwork. The paintings looked like ordinary (maybe backlit) artwork until you walked by. Then the pictures came to life! This was a pirate ship that you could steer!! There was also a great painting that fought with the next painting over!

IMG_8946_filtered.jpg

Now it was time to try the Kim Possible type adventure that's on board! It's called the Midship Detective agency. You get a little card and a map to find your clues. You hold your card up to make the artwork change and give you your clues.

We passed the Buena Vista theater on the way:

We also passed some chocolate covered strawberries!

The show tonight was amazing. It’s new for the Dream and we loved it!!

During dinner the goodbye celebration was going on. I stepped out of the restaurant to take a picture. Jodi Benson was out there taking a picture! She’s in the long green dress:

After dinner we went back to our room. Tonight I had an adorable little suitcase with a chocolate ship in it! Somehow I forgot to take a picture of the ship:

Next up, I finally broke out the tripod and wandered around the ship for a while.

Wednesday, January 26th – Disembarking Day

I hate this day!! At least we had a day at Disney World to look forward to!

We were assigned to late breakfast because we had late dinner but we decided we were in a hurry! So we went up to Cabanas for our final breakfast. It was early!

After eating we said goodbye to the Dream. Disembarking was great. Very smooth, super fast. We took the Disney bus to the Polynesian and checked in. Our room wasn’t ready so we left for our first park, Epcot.

I found this in my pocket:

IMG_9130.jpg

While were on the monorail and talking about what we wanted to do, I decided we could make all 4 parks in one day. After some convincing, we all agreed. Woo hoo!!

This meant stopping at Magic Kingdom and riding Space Mountain. It was a little after 10:00 when we left the Polynesian. We walked into Magic Kingdom and went right to Space. This was our first taste of the crowds and it gave us a feel for whether or not we’d be able to hit all 4 parks today!

IMG_9134.jpg

The photopass person took this one. No more asking random strangers! Although a random stranger might have taken a better one!:lookaroun:

Space was a walk on, so that was a good sign!

We got some popcorn and left after that. A monorail pulled up as we walked up the ramp and when we had to switch monorails to go to Epcot we walked right on a waiting monorail.

Disney transportation was definitely working in our favor today.

Epcot!!

IMG_9150.jpg

We sent Misty to go get Soarin Fastpasses and we walked to Test Track. We decided the single rider line would work for us and that’s what we did when Misty got back.

We spent some time in Mousegear next.

Then we mosied through the World Showcase and ate in France.

Then we walked out the back entrance and took the boat to DHS.

IMG_9175.jpg

IMG_9181.jpg

We walked right on Tower of Terror and Rockin Roller Coaster was a walk on too. We knew Toy Story wouldn’t be, but Mom had never ridden it so we decided it was worth it.

We waited about 45 minutes. Excellent ride as always.

We didn’t want to wait for the next American Idol show so we left for Animal Kingdom. It was our first bus of the day, and it came almost right away.

Animal Kingdom!

We knew we needed to go on the Safari before Extra Magic Hours started. The animals were up and moving, it was great.

We walked towards Asia next.

We ate dinner at Yak and Yeti and then walked over to Everest. It was a walk on too.

I can only take Everest once a day. It really makes me dizzy. Misty and Bonnie rode again and I took pictures!

Then what do you know, we were done! It was only 6:00!! We did all 4 parks in 8 hours!! On Disney transportation!! Crazy!!

Misty and Mom decided they wanted to go back to Epcot and ride Soarin which they did. Bonnie and I went to Downtown Disney to get her kids some lego souvenirs.

We were back in our room watching American Idol by 8:00. Our room by the way was gorgeous and huge!

Thursday, January 27th – Vacations over, sadness
We slept in until 8:00 which felt luxurious.

After we got ready we went and checked our luggage in then we ate breakfast in the food court. Misty had the tonga toast which she raved about.

We walked around for a little while before it was time for our DME bus.

IMG_9307.jpg

IMG_9305.jpg

There was some bad weather in Chicago but we made it home without incident.

Final thoughts –
We had a great time. The Dream is brand new and still working out a few kinks, but nothing that put a damper on our vacation. My only complaint was how short the cruise was. 3 nights is just not long enough. We were racing from one thing to another without time to really relax and take it all in. If it was my only option would I take a 3 night cruise again? You bet! But give me a choice and I will take longer ever time!

Thanks for reading!

After looking at your pictures, I am thoroughly convinced that I need to take a Disney cruise someday. I just need to work on growing the money tree in the back yard!
