Wow.
Ben...and his amazing parents...are an inspiration to all dealing with similar situations.
And, of course, this article is a testimony to the magic that is Disney.

Thank you - wonderful article! I can relate to absolutely everything in there - even the part about Thomas the Tank Engine, which my son adores. I look forward to his next 'therapy session' at Disney in a month. :sohappy:

Autism Society of America is having their national conference in Orlando in July - will you be attending? I will be there to learn as much as I can about how to help my son. Best wishes to your family, and I look forward to hearing about Ben's 3000th ride on Snow White.

Ron - Thanks for sharing Ben with those of us on WDWMagic, and now with a wider audience through the great article in the OS. I've been touched by Ben's progress and your and Sara's efforts on his behalf. The accommodations made by Disney for his 1K and 2K rides were truly magical. You are all amazing and I wish Ben the best for his continued success.

Thank you for sharing this article with us! I read about the 1000th and 2000th ride on Snow White. Your family is truly a testiment to the love a parent has for a child. Moving across the country for the sake of your child's therapy is such a self-less act (especially since you and Ben's mom are no longer together.) God bless your family. Good luck in your therapy progress.

Sometimes, all you need is some pixie dust... :sohappy:

I have been following your posts since SW1K. The magic WDW brings out in people is phenomenal! I am so glad Ben continues to flourish through great parents, schooling and WDW. He is truly an exceptional boy with exceptional parents. Great article-this made my day!

A real testament to two loving and dedicated parents. While it's not mentioned in the article....its good to note in this story that WDWMagic members, some great Cast Members and other folks have consistently contributed to making Ben and his parents experience even more special.

What a great article and Ben is very lucky for having such caring and loving parents. People say they will do anything for their children and the love and compassion that they have for their son is heartwarming. The Disney magic extends to lengths that sometimes we will never understand. Kudos to the cast members for making his 2,000 ride so special. Disney is a magical place in more ways than one!:sohappy:

i've been following your story since sw1k, and every time i read something about it i get so choked up. your story is just incredible. i also sent it to a friend who claims disney world is nothing but commercial fakeness. someone said it before, but the magic is real.

Thank you for posting the story. I was telling a firnd of mine about the 2000th ride for Ben. She has a 3 year old autistic son as well. The father was just laid off and they are thinking of moving. I was telling her about Ben and she was very interested in hearing the whole story. Now I can print it and give it to her.
