To All,

Next time anyone is at the MK, take a good look at the castle at night and see if you notice anything different or improved. It looks great.

Best,

Clark

This week, Cinderella got a new lighting system installed at her castle. It's energy efficient and the colors are now brighter than ever. It looks great!

Is this an LED system?

If it is, I don't think that a LED fixture yet exists that would be able to emit light far enough from the ticket booth roof all the way to SSE. I would work on the sides and back but possibly not the front.

It is also my understanding that the Christmas lights on the castle will be slightly different from last year.

Rather then project light onto SSE what if they were to somehow outline the triangle tiles with LED lights? I think that would look amazing. Just think of the different light chasing patterns they could come up with.

I have often had the same idea. They could easily instal strobes under the tiles.

My idea... install fiber optics on the other side of the triangles so at night, the triangle can flip over, revealing the fiber optics, and SSE would turn into a giant fiber optic ball. And then they can flip back periodically and do cool patterns like some would be on the fiber optics side, and some would be on the normal side. And on the fiber optic side you could even display messages, not just colors? Sorry, I've been waiting for an opportunity to say this for a long time.:sohappy:

It's an amazing idea...They wanted to do that to SSE during the millennium with LED's-ala-Earth Barge, but Logistically it would be a nightmare. The Strobes would not be that bad though.

They could if the tiles could flip. Which they can`t.

LED strips would be interesting, but with 954 main sections alone, with around 900 edges on show, that`d be 2700 strips - or 11448 to edge each individual triangle.

I think they`ll stick to spotlights.
