Trip Report A Bonus last minute March Flower and Garden trip with lots of "Moments" - COMPLETED

Hello and welcome to my trip report I'm so excited to share this report with you all as it was such a special trip - I literally loved every moment of it and there were quite a few "moments" - I'll explain more on that in a minute.

As the title suggests this was a bonus trip for me booked at just 33 days before travelling - for those of you who don't know me I'm Tracey, hello, I travel to Disney every year in November - always November for my birthday. This trip was suggested by Chris (my husband) and we found a really good deal so we decided to go for it! - further details of how this happened can be found in my pre trip report (but to be honest you won't find much else of any use in the pre trip report as there was pretty much not to update on - I just wanted to tell everyone how happy I was when I booked)

I knew we were booked but in reality things didn't sink in until we arrived and that's where the "moments" in the title come in - I would have a quivering lip, tears in my eyes and then the sunglasses would come from the top of my head over my eyes to cover the tears and there it was a "moment" as Chris would describe it - and a fair few of these happened during this trip. Because this didn't really sink in properly until we arrived there is a lack of photo's for the first part of this report but there will be a lot of photo's after this properly starts as despite being in the world in November there are over 1400 pictures from this trip - oops......

We were in Disney from 12th March to 22nd March - 10 days in the World, Direct flights from the UK and Disney's All Star Sports with park tickets for a total of £2600 a bargain and the reason we went.

so onto the details................

Sunday 11th March
The day before our flight - we woke up and finished packing, it was strange to be packing Mickey ears and shorts in a suitcase, it still felt so unreal and really hadn't sunk in. it was like we were just going through the motions but were watching someone else - it's really hard to describe but you might relate to what I mean?

We normally travel mid week so normally leave work and rush around and then head down to the airport, we took our time, had something to eat and then packed the car and were off.

DSC04243.JPG

We were in the car chatting saying that in a few days we'd be on BTMRR but then just kept laughing as if it wasn't real - it honestly felt as if we were going out for the day together or going on an overnight break.
Our journey was pretty quick to Gatwick - we got to the hotel around 4.30pm and lay and rested in our room for an hour.
I watched some of Dancing on Ice - (a TV programme where celebrities learn to Dance on Ice) - Chris finally got fed up of that and went down to the pub next door to the hotel for a beer.
I joined him shortly after for a quick drink and snack and then we both returned to the room for an early night
The bar was far busier than we'd ever seen it but I think that was down to the fact it was Mother's Day.

Monday 12th March
Travel day - for all our Disney trips for the past few years the alarm tune is Shakira "try everything" - the same tune was put on to wake us up this morning and when the alarm did go off we again looked at each other and chuckled almost in disbelief this was actually going to happen.
We got up, showered and then headed for breakfast - in the hotel we stay in you get a free pick up and go breakfast of croissants, bacon rolls, coffee etc.

We packed the car (again) and took the car to the long stay south car park - before we left the cost of staying in the south car park was around £20 cheaper than the north long stay car park and as we were trying to not spend excessively on this holiday we booked the cheap option and decided to take the tram to the North Terminal where the plane was waiting to take us "home"

We arrived to an empty check in - I couldn't check in online (we think due to my brand new passport) so we were grateful for an empty Virgin desk. We headed through security and did a little window shopping and had poached egg on toast for breakfast.

We boarded our plane "pretty woman" and the plane took off with 285 passengers and 16 crew - in November this figures is well over 400 passengers!

I watched a few films on the plane including Coco and really enjoyed it - a great story line and I'm sure that Walt Disney is still living in the after world as I for one often think of him and what he achieved in Disney :)

We were 6th off the plan but our luggage took ages to arrive - the airport was being updated and there seemed to be fewer luggage belts etc and things hanging over the ceiling as make shift air conditioning units.

We headed out towards the Magical Express - we've never got onto this before and there was a fairly long wait - I'm disappointed that at this stage things still hadn't really sunk in so I didn't take any photo's, that said we didn't get a Magical Express anyway - it was a Mears coach :(

We arrived at All Star Sports - (for those who know me well will know I've only ever stayed at Riverside, it's my 2nd home and I've spent over 300 nights there but this was a chance to spend 10 additional days at Disney so Riverside was going to have to wait until November) - check in was quick and I have to say all the staff here were so friendly and welcoming - they really do show Disney in a great light

We opted for the no cleaning option and were given $90 - Ice cream money - yay! - those who have read my previous reports will know my thoughts on ice cream - we're more than capable of making our own beds and on keeping things tidy so this was a no brainer for us.

Our room was the furthest away but was still far nearer to the food court etc than any room we've had at Riverside. It didn't seem that far away at all for us. The room was clean, smaller than we're used to but was fine for what we needed.

We literally dumped the bags without even opening them, walked out of the room and went to reception to order a Lyft - it was now 8.34pm (12.34am UK time) but we had shopping to get. We were off to Walmart

Kenneth came to pick us up and we spoke with him about how long we'd been awake but we were going to keep going as we had supplies to get. We joked with him that he might be coming to pick us up if he were lucky!

We picked up water, breakfast bits and chips and ordered another Lyft to take us back to the All stars - would you credit it - Kenneth picked us up and we were back by 10pm

We quickly unpacked and were in bed around 10.30pm after 21 hours awake.

Coming up next our first full day in Disney - and the start of those moments - and a lot of photos!!!!

We obviously stopped to see the butterflies and then took a stroll around world showcase

These flowers are normally given to me at Xmas and go in a pot inside 1 bulb to each stem - i don’t care for them much at home but this looked lovely

I don’t think we’ve ever noticed this boat on the way to France - maybe we rush too much, maybe it’s new?

View attachment 275505

Stopped by the Beauty and beast topiary again - he is the love of my life after all! - only the beast version though!

Took this shot from the back that I really like!

That boat in France has been there. Just shows how much gets missed as you rush around. I always say I want to slow down the pace to take everything in, but that never seems to happen.:cautious:

It's like a good book, though. You won't catch all the details on one trip, but having the variety of details included ensures that you'll always see something new every time you go. Like when you re-read a favorite book.... you notice different things you didn't remember from the last time or you have a different take on them because you have a different perspective.

What I'm saying is, you don't need to slow down and take everything in, you just need to go many many times :hilarious::hilarious:

Next stop popcorn - we’ll we had only had the original bucket - no refills so far and it was our last full day! We probably didn’t get our moneys worth but who cares we can make up for it in November when we get another bucket!

We headed out of Epcot - there was a “moment” but a happy one as I had got to experience this myself rather than looking at others photos in this TR’s

I truly loved Epcot during this time - it was so special

We headed out of Epcot to the monorail

THere were a lot of people at bag check waiting to get in

I was being silly on the monorail - Chris was doing “Por Favour”
I bet we all try to do it but if the truth is known we probably don’t really know the words.

We took some construction photos.
There appears to be so much construction going on - I don’t know why they don’t do bits in stages - but maybe they are!?

We arrived at about 2pm - we headed straight to the hub grass to sit in the sun and to wait to see the parade.

It was a beautiful sunny day

I started on an impromptu photo shoot - I love this hub grass I just never seem to find the time to sit there!

He later said maybe he had wished he had his shorts on during this part of the day.
We then decided to get a photo pass picture.

After the parade we went to lunch and grabbed a slushy to cool down (and ease my throat) - that’s my excuse anyway!

Then it was time to meet some princesses.

First Elena, her and Chris had a great chat - I can’t remember what about now but I do remember her saying one day she would be queen - I asked her to make sure if she did get to be queen could she make it so we never had to work again and that I could stay in Disney - she said no worries - so we’re all sorted!

Then it was time to meet Cinderella - we have never met her before but she was lovely - she liked my blue top but didn’t talk much with anyone as she seemed to be standing alone a fair bit between guests.

We were headed to BTMRR

This was the queue for FP!

We then got onto 7DMT - I’ve said it before but these seats are small - maybe they think this ride is for children but we are all children at heart and I think these seats should have been made bigger - just saying!

We took in some more sights, and just absorbed everything before leaving and heading back to the hotel to pack.

We had an early night as it’s difficult to sleep on a plane so we wanted to make the most of having a bed for the night before enjoying our MK day tomorrow and leaving the bubble.

Where did you find the Disnerd shirt? I have to have it lol.

It was something I saw on Facebook as a limited edition - not even sure of any company name - but I’m sure they must be around somewhere as I’ve had for over a year now - I save it for Disney and don’t wear it any other time! It’s one of my favourites.

Good luck trying to find one!

Thursday 22nd. March - our last day in the bubble!

Normally on our last day Chris wakes to find me crying - today he didn’t.
Nothing could spoil these extra days we’d had in Disney. Not even the sore throat I still had along with just a slight aching all over. It honestly felt like I was getting a cold - I haven’t had a cold for over 2 years!

We had got some medicine on our trip to Walmart on our first day (I always swear by American medicine they must put things in it that we can’t in the UK - it seems stronger and works quicker?!). I took a dose and soon I was ready for our day.

We packed our last few bits and said farewell to our room - ( there were a lot of people arriving in the bit at the back of the hotel where groups check groups ) we headed to drop our bags at the front desk until later on. The tragical express was picking us up at 3.55 so we had a fair few hours to enjoy in the park.

We headed straight for FP number 1 HM and then headed to Columbia harbour house for lunch.
We ate watching the world go by out of the window.

We then headed to FP number 2 - any guesses where we were going?

I bet you guessed right - BTMRR - well I was hardly going to leave without one last ride!

The FP queue was long! But it did move fairly fast.

We enjoyed our last ride until November - that’s 7 rides in 10 days @Tuvalu - so I think the scores are

Me - 7
You - 3

There’s no way I think i’m Winning this one but I’m happy to play along with your challenge!

We realised we hadn’t been on Splash Mountain this trip but the queue was fairly long and we didn’t fancy getting wet in case we didn’t dry off! :)

We also realised we hadn’t done jungle cruise and we normally always do just once each trip - but it was showing a 2 hour queue! We weren’t going to wait that long - I was a little disappointed though as in Nov I am sure it will already be jingle cruise.

There was only one thing for it - ice cream!

A warm brownie sundae! With Mickey ears!
We don’t normally see this in November at the ice cream parlour so we were obviously going to have one before leaving - this was the best ice cream we had during our whole trip.

We shared as the brownie slices were big - we decided if we did eat it all and want more we’d just go and buy another - we didn’t need another!
This was yum!

We sat and devoured this - I really hope they still have these in November - everyone needs to buy one so they know they are popular so they are still there - I’m relying on you all!

I enjoyed looking at these flowers while we ate.

I hope they still have those icecreams in November - just showed DH the photo and he wants one NOW! Have told him he'll have to wait. this was the face I got. Looks like you had another fantastic day and am looking forward (sadly) to the remainder of your report. :)
