Well… rode it today, mostly clean sheet.

Definitely a downgrade. Queue is an upgrade.

Feels like it got 80% the way there and just faltered.

Lots of noticeably broken effects despite never having ridden it.

Flickering big Tiana screen, b-mode Tiana, broken lift screen.
I don’t even think it’s 40% of the way there. Beyond the first part of the finale, what else is even in the ride?

The film gave them all of the ingredients (unintentional pun) to make a great ride.
They even had Tony Baxter on hand to show them how to do it.
And they blew it.
They blew it because they thought they knew better.

Yep.

It truly is a stupendous feat to have blown this so badly when there was SO MUCH obvious potential for a BETTER experience.

Just stunning stupidity and ball dropping beyond belief…to have everything laid out perfectly ahead of them and then someone ( legal, ‘inclusion commitee’, etc.) decides instead to take an unexpected extreme turn off of the glistening waterway right into the weeds.

The mind truly boggles.
Tiana and her crew deserved better.
What could have been….

You’re going to eat these words when the Tiana D+ series is a rousing success!

Just kidding - it’s going to come and go on D+ without a blip, without any meaningful streaming viewership to speak of.

Here's all the dialogue for Tiana's Bayou Adventure. Made because I was bored and had some time to kill-

Scene 1- Mill
[Tiana] “Hey there y’all are! Louis is up ahead, let’s join him and find a band for our celebration! To the bayou!”
[Tiana] “Welcome y’all! Let’s meet up with Louis and find some musicians for our party! Look out bayou, here we come!”
[Tiana] “Hey y’all, thanks for helpin’ me look for musicians for our party tonight! Louis, they’re on their way!”

Scene 2 – Garden/Slippin’ Falls
[Louis] “Yoo-hoo! Any bands down there?! Come out, come out, wherever you are!”
[Louis] “Yoo-hoo! Calling all musicians! Man, it’s hard to find a band in the bog!”
[Louis] “Hello? Anyone down here who can blow a horn and jam? Hello?!”

[Mama Odie] “If you’re lookin’ for musicians, ya don’t have far to go! Tell the people Mama told ya so! Ah-hahaha!”
[Mama Odie] “Gumbo gumbo in a pot. We need a band, whatcha got?”

Scene 3 – Zydeco
[Louis] “Tiana was right! There are musicians out here, and they are cooking!”
[Tiana] They’re the bee’s knees! I would love for y’all to play at my party!”

[Louis] “Tiana wasn’t kidding y’all! This zydeco band she found sure can play! Hallelujah!”
[Tiana] “They sure can play! We’ll ask them to join the band for sure!”

Scene 4- Rara
[Louis] “Tiana you were right! The bayou’s got just what we need!”
[Louis] “My, my! This Rara band can jammmm!!!!”
[Louis] “Mmmm, listen to this! These cats CAN PLAAAY!!!”

Scene 5 – Louis Butt
[Tiana] “I’m asking all of them to play at the party! But we need to keep searching high and low!”
[Louis] “How low can I go?!”

[Tiana] “I hope they all come to the party to play, but let’s explore a little more!”
[Louis] “How’s this?”

Scene 6 – Dip Drop
[Mama Odie] “Time to think big! Time to get tiny!” (Tiny echoes as the log drops)
[Mama Odie] “Y’all ready to get down to business? Ah-hahah!!!”
[Mama Odie] “Unusual places hides unusual talent!”
[Mama Odie] “Talent’s everywhere if ya dig down deep enough! Ah- hahaha!”

[Tiana] “Where’d our friends go?”
[Louis] “I dunno!”
[Tiana] “We have to find them!”

Scene 7 – Tiana and Louis Peer In

[Louis] “Hmmmm, y’all got itty bitty little buddies!”
[Tiana] “But you found the sound I was craving!”

[Louis] “Y’all small as frogs!”
[Tiana] “Ha! Been there, done that! But you found the sound I was craving!”

[Louis] “Wow! This joint is hopping!”
[Tiana] “These tiny musicians you found really bring the heat!”

[Louis] “Huh?! How’d you get so teeny-weeny?”
[Tiana] “These tiny musicians you found really bring the heat!”

Scene 8 – Big Lift Hill

[Mama Odie] “Let’s getcha big again, ‘cause the bigger you are, the bigger the Splash you’ll make at the party!”
[Mama Odie] “Ah-haha! Hope y’all enjoyed getting tiny! Now let’s get y’all back to your big, beautiful selves!”
[Mama Odie] “Juju says its time I getcha back to size! Invite all your tiny friends to tag along too!”

Scene 9 – Big Drop

[Mama Odie] “Now let’s getcha to the party! You’ll get there in no time, guaranteed! Hang on y’all! This is gonna be good!”

Scene 10 – Finale
[Mama Odie] “I knew y’all would make a big Splash at this party! Ah-haha! See y’all again soon!”
[Mama Odie] -Juju pops up- “Juju! Beignets are for guests!”
[Mama Odie] -Juju pops up- “Juju! Be careful with my beignets you bad boy!”
[Mama Odie] “Remember, this party wouldn’t be what it is without you! Ah- Haha! Bye!”
[Mama Odie] “Tiana sure knows how to make a party special! Hee-hee!”
[Mama Odie] – Juju pops up- “Juju!”
[Mama Odie] “What a band!”

I feel like several of my brain cells just perished in a sea of mediocrity and repetitiveness.
Or, I just watched an episode of the recently rebooted ‘Barney’.

But even ‘Barney’ can stimulate the mind more than this insipid drivel.
This is below even preschool competence level.

Seriously, who writes this stuff…?

Now that I think about it, why is this a survey? It's a pretty bizarre one. I've seen them put out surveys of entertainment to gauge guest reactions. But this one is seemingly asking guests to report back whether a ride was malfunctioning. Shouldn't they know all of this already? Downtime and evac stats are recorded and known, and there should be routine ridethroughs from workers to spot problems with show elements. What is this survey supposed to tell Disney that they wouldn't already know?

No, this looks to have been put out as a gauge to see what sort of neglect people are willing to put up with until they complain about it. It's a very sad and revealing state of affairs at Disney that we've reached a point where instead of fixing a ride they already know isn't working, they're asking customers whether they're bothered by it being broken.

My guess is so they can (create/skew) a result based on a survey that they can show the higher ups and say “see…it’s not that bad! All is well!”

…and then do nothing like you said. Neglect it.

Another question asked if you noticed the ride going down while you were in line.

They have the data they just want to gage the reactions

I think it's more cynical than that. This seems like it lets them say "only X% of guests could even tell something was wrong" as a way for them to avoid fixing the issues. It's gross - they know when it isn't working, but if customers can't tell, then why spend money to fix it?

That's exactly what I was saying. They know there are major problems with the ride, this survey is not to gather that kind of data. It is designed to gauge how many guests care and determine whether they can get away with not fixing them.

Maybe more comments should be sent in to guest relations, I know for the most part the cubicle interns role their eyes and ditch them probably, but ....better than nothing and maybe a few would get sent higher up. worth a try.

Remember how whenever Disney plans to remove something it ends up rotting in plain view for a while and people start arguing this is totally okay, if not just flat out the expected course of action because it makes so much sense?

Maybe, just maybe, "us saving a few thousand is more important than these people who paid full price having a good experience" is a bad mindset to encourage and make excuses for.

By that logic Tiana may live a shorter life than Starcruiser

Incidentally, remember when people were using the poor condition and breakdowns of the previous ride as one of the justifications for why it needed to be changed? Not the only argument, but it did come up quite a lot. Yeah...

I'm almost impressed with how quickly this ride fell to pieces and was essentially given up on. I had thought it would at least get a couple of years of decent operation and pretty meticulous maintenance before it was dropped and things started rapidly going downhill.
