Not having a rooftop terrace/restaurant seems to be a big miss here. The lack of dining options and the lack of fireworks viewing would have been solved

I think it was a choice between a gym or community hall.
I mean for all that other trash they’re trying to sell
You check the ole Disney files? It was literally the most pathetic issue I’ve seen in 25 years?I have no idea how you are drawing that conclusion out of promo images for a restaurant. The Poly Tower was announced years ago when VGF2 was super successful. To cash in on that trend of adding on to preexisting associations. The poly tower sales and details have been incredibly slow to release, it’s opening in December and generally would have been on sale by now. Clearly it’s gearing up for sales shortly with the final detail blitz.
RIV just had its best sales month in four years and the summer sales cycle has been incredibly strong. I know you are going with intuition on this one, but your intuition is quite off the mark (unless it’s about the cabins). While WDW attendance is increasingly soft, somehow DVC is continually bucking the trend.
Disney's Riviera Resort Has Best Month In Four Years As Direct Sales Climb in July 2024 | DVCNews.com - The essential Disney Vacation Club resource!
Sales incentives introduced in late June seem to be having a positive affect on direct sales of Disney Vacation Club points. Six DVC resorts had their best sales in calendar year 2024, including fdvcnews.com
But, PS the Cabins at fort wilderness are a complete and total confusing bust that they seem to just be ignoring.
I might lean towards how close it is to TTC. Anyone could park at the TTC and walk over to it while Top of the World is further away and behind a strict guard booth to discourage visitors. And with how the Poly security team is usually even more strict with randoms and Trader Sams, they probably don't want to entertain another reason for people trying to get through their gate. And sure you can do the same with TTC to MK to ToTW but there's more effort to go through it.Not having a rooftop terrace/restaurant seems to be a big miss here. Thought the concept art looked pretty bad, but honestly, I DO kinda like it in person.Hideous is an understatement. It is complete and utter garbage and ruins the view around the lagoon. It sticks out like a sore, nasty, infected thumb. I still cannot believe this got through the approval process.
Woo, people get to see some fireworks...
It's funny to even think if this is being compared to Helio's Grand Hotel by anyone based on the lobby. Not having a rooftop terrace/restaurant seems to be a big miss here. The lack of dining options and the lack of fireworks viewing would have been solved
In the context of its location...it is definitely not an overreaction. It’s not the prettiest thing they’ve ever built but calling it a visual abomination is a bit of an overreaction.
It is. It is for many reasons. In the context of its location...it is definitely not an overreaction.
Nothing to wait for...we already have seen pictures of what the end result will be. There is no saving it...It hasn't gotten better looking yet...I keep waiting for some spectacular decoration that will go up and then it will start to look correct for the resort, but it never happens.....
The Villas at Grand Floridian is so beautiful..
But the concept art doesn't show the beige boxed sides which is making the building uglier than this concept art view. It's as if the closer you'll stand to it will it be hidden from your view. What a smart angle to concept art so we don't see the rough patch!Nothing to wait for...we already have seen pictures of what the end result will be. There is no saving it...
Right next to this...

I believe so.... it's that pool bar and grill. So we think there is only one restaurant coming to this location? The pool bar hybrid?
