Yes. To sell more DVC. But that does not translate to increase attendance. And even at pull occupancy this resort doesn’t make a dent in park capacity
Totally agree, but by adding this resort they can falsely say they “added capacity” to the WDW resort, as in more rooms, not in attractions (the only thing that counts in my mind)

attractions cost money to build and maintain DVC cost nothing and make money year after year and money is all Disney is interested in
Really people work for free when they are building DVC facilities? Companies just give Disney all the materials for constructing DVC building, but charge them when they are using materials for attractions? People work at and maintain DVC facilities for free, but not for attractions?

Yeah, there could be another pandemic!
Let's hope not.

There are plenty of examples of announced Disney Projects that have not happened.

See Disney's America
DisneySea at Port Disney (Long Beach)
More locally... Main Street Theater
Numerous WS pavilions, some even has official Preview centers like Equatorial Africa.

I have not even mentioned the ones from your park;).

Nah. Don't need (or want) another pandemic for planned vs reality to be a factor which has always and will always be a factor.

To be fair, the pandemic caused delays and potential materials/labor increases. It was not the actual cause of Harmonious' failure and having to spend even more to create Luminous, cancelling the Table for CommuniCore Hall, lighting fiascos, cancelling PLAY!, poor storytelling in Guardians, cancelling SEE (which was probably a blessing), etc.

It played a role on the timeline, no doubt - and you can't rebuild demolished buildings. But, Disney created many of it's own issues with the EPCOT redo that have nothing to do with the pandemic.

Now back to Mistake on the Lake: The Residences. ;)

Someone probably already posted about this, but I head this resort may get a lazy river?

That's a prominent rumor (with some evidence, I believe) - and one thing I would genuinely be excited about in a new project like this. Honestly, if this had more of a personality/perspective and wasn't directly in the Wilderness Lodge lake view, I think it would be a very nice project. Perhaps unnecessary right now - but nice.
