Yes, I was referring to the first one which, albeit, was very conceptual. But what it was updated to and is became a very far cry from a waterfall and infinity pool.

Shocking but this is the first time I notice the pool consists of waterfalls. I don't care for pools which is why back then my eyes were just drawn to seating, palm trees and building! 🙃 The waterfall aspect would been a great tribute to OG Polynesian!

There are people depicted in the water on the far side of the pool. Not sure how anyone got "waterfalls" out of that.
It was originally going to be a split level pool with an infinity edge / waterfall between the two. Water from the upper pool would fall to the lower pool. There was also a waterfall between the pool and the bar. The art shows these features as does the originally blueprints for the project.

It seems like the weird tall apron around the rooms situated directly above the gym was also not supposed to be there originally.

Thank's for pointing that out the waterfall feature next to the restaurant.

Never trust concept art.

What sucks is not that we trust concept arts but more so fall in love with them more than so likely than the final product. It's not like they did better or replaced something to the same level of what was shown. These features are additions that if weren't on the concept art we be accepting of what we got and wouldn't imagine the what if or this was!

I really expect the lazy river to stick at this juncture. It has survived the resort being mothballed for five years.

They kind of need the punch to upsell the resort. It can’t just be Wilderness Lodge but even further away from Magic Kingdom. The resort complex is also huge. 3x the rooms of Riviera and with cash guests. If they hitched an entire transportation system around that projects otherwise sub optimal location, I think they can spring for a nicer pool complex on this one.

I also suspect the water side table restaurant sticks.

The DVC sales was just posted and it was a very strong Jan 2025. The leader was Poly (no resale restrictions), but Riv was a solid second. At the rate RIV is selling, it should be sold out in 21 months--or about the time the LL is ready to open. So while many of us do not particularly like the recent DVC designs, DVC sales have been good. If sales continue on this track, I would expect an announcement of a new DVC/expansion in around 12 months.

Aside from being concerned about the impact this will have on the Fort Wilderness vibe (which I expect to be dramatic and net negative to Fort Wilderness enjoyers), my main concern is about the boat traffic. I haven't noted anything regarding a second dock, dock expansion project or similar - is there anything in the docs to address this or is it a wait-and-see?

The new resort is planned to have its own dock.
