Finally out of tarps. Looks gorgeous.

No surprise, but confirmation the new lakeside security gate will match the main entrance design:

Site of the new gate:

Which bit are they meant to be reusing?

The McDonald’s move continues:

maybe in the next 20+ years they will utilize the 7 seas lagoon for a massive fireworks show viewable from many hotels while also building a massive stepped down standing seating area at the entrance of MK for MK to watch the show? Then get rid of MK fireworks and build all that backstage area out? That way all the fireworks sho guests are out of the park at the end of the night already and theres no last minute rush

You’re about 4,000 miles out.

Are they going out of business? If this was either of the American parks there’d be outrage

Autopia and Snow White are surprising.

Autopia already opens at half capacity and it immediately busy. Snow White opens with only 1 Cast member and whilst often marginally quieter than Pinocchio it will only pass the queue over to Pinnochio which will be even longer now.

Storybook Land normally opens later anyhow so that isn't a big change. And Cars is hardly a rope drop attraction...

I think it would have been 'cleaner' to have Cars and Storybook Land open at midday to allow Autopia and Snow White to open on time IMO.

That’s comparing apples to oranges. If the Tomorrowland Speedway, Winnie the Pooh, the Barnstormer and Little Mermaid at MK all opened at 11am or noon there’s be outrage.
No, that’s comparing half a US park to 4 attractions. Not that I agree with the Paris move.

the park is full quite often, the prices are high, i dont understand the need for this.

i know merlin recently said their forward look prices are low, covid rebound is ending plus cost of living hitting family budgets, but right now i see no reason why disney have to cut corners.

You can tell how fully owns Paris now. It’s the same mentality as the US parks; cut corners and quality yet people still pay.

There is something up... could be hotel bookings are down? I think attendance is softer than we think, yes there are occasional sold out days but I think the average day to day attendance is lower. Plus their cost base is much higher than 1-2 years ago.

Also now Frozen is announced for 2026 I would expect to see a softening of numbers the closer we get. You can see on UK FB groups people saying they will delay until 2026. It is not unexpected the same is happening at Universal for Epic and they have also done similar of staggered ride openings (and more!)

I guess no one was around for the Cote Cours/Cote Jardins experiment in 2001 at Disneyland Paris. How it worked is that during the week, starting in the spring until summer, Discoveryland and Fantasyland opened with the park at 10 am. All guests were directed there and extra character performers were deployed throughout Fantasyland and Main Street.

At 1 pm, Frontierland and Adventureland opened to the public, which lead to some very messy lines in the half that was open before. I worked at Space Mountain then and prior to that, we'd manage the steady stream of guests with say 3 trains on 1 station. But, with BTM and Temple du Peril not open, we'd get crushed and get a massive line that would require opening the second station much earlier.

By having 1 pm to 8 pm hours in Frontierland, you could get away with having less staff there.

What was announced is nowhere as extreme as that and the parks will be fine.
