80 degree Christmas?

Pumbas Nakasak

Heading for the great escape.
You shouldn't have raised kids. You should've raised minions. Just sayin. I think of it as raising boys that will make my future daughter-in-laws think I'm a genius.

I personally enjoy the wonderful grub at family gatherings that I didn't have to cook. The time to see the relatives I like is nice. There are a few. Oh, and another justification to drink and light things on fire (New Years fireworks in the country) isn't so awful. It's all in perspective. Find the parts you like and enjoy it. I thought maybe the whuppin' with the tinsel stick could be inspiring for you but I digress...

Maybe its cause I have three girls (young women), and they lack their mothers good taste in men.

Besides I have a small bar in my house and I m not three bad a cook so perhaps the bar is set quite high year round. And Im all for a good whippin.

I live in IL. I have experienced and enjoyed having more than one White Christmas. I like a light dusting for the holiday. I wouldn't of thought swimming in the pool that morning and then celebrating Christmas that night would work. That being said, sitting on Main St. Tuesday night and hearing the music change over to Christmas music and seeing snow coming down put me right in the Christmas mood. You can't help but sing along to songs you know and love and get caught up in it. Splash Mountain's sorry shape was the only thing that took away from my experience.

Honestly, (this is coming from a born and raised Floridian) the holiday time (Nov, Dec, Jan) in Florida is actually really nice!

It is usually pleasant during the day with temps in the 70's but the humiditity is not bad. It's terrible during the summer months but after fall rolls around, it's nice. You can be comfortable in shorts and a long sleeve or jeans and a tank or cardigan or tee. We have some of the most GORGEOUS days during the 3 months I listed above. Very clear skies and really nice weather..not too hot..not too cold.

At night, temps drop. Sometimes significantly! But, you will do well with a pair of jeans, a scarf, and light jacket. :)

As far as the Christmas feeling goes, Disney does a fabulous job of making it feel like Christmas..they even have snow..don't know how that happens..could be Disney magic ;)

We are going this weekend..hoping for great weather!

Enjoy your trip! Just be glad it's not mid july where you walk outside and sweat your butt off or up north with freezing temps where you freeze your butt off!:p

When I was young, I spent my first Christmas away from cold and snow in sunny Southeast Asia (Vietnam) to be exact. I remember sitting on a step by the barracks, wearing cutoffs and a white t-shirt, drinking a Budweiser. That is the only warm weather Christmas that didn't seem like one. Everyone I've had the good fortune to experience since then has been delightful.:)

Oh y'all do get some actual cold up there! 2 years ago when the big snows kept happening we were temporarily up in Ardmore, Oklahoma. I was traumatized by all that ice and cold stuff. LOL!

We get snow, but not very often. 2010 was memorable...

I'm a Midwestern girl and love the seasons. However, this year we will be in Disney for Christmas and will be he first in my almost 40 years that I'm not dreaming of a white Christmas. ;) I figure is I'm paying for Florida I want 80 degree Christmas!

The one other time I was in Florida in December it snowed. Better not happen his time!!!

You call that memorable? In Vermont we would have called it flurries. Or maybe even frozen sunshine!:)

I didn't say it was miserable, just very unusual for my neck of the woods. :)

EDIT: I just noticed that I misread the post. I must have been in a hurry, or perhaps reading just owns me. :p

Looks like the kind of snow most people want! It is wet, no traffic problems, not much of it and already melting...that's the best snow. If you can see the street in the tire tracks, it isn't really bad weather.

But I'm sure it is unusual, and therefore memorable, for Texans (or Oklahomans, I'm a little confused as to where this was. :) )

Yeah, this was about the time when Dallas was hosting the Super Bowl between the Packers and Steelers. There were jokes going around that the Packers brought the cold along with them to the Super Bowl. :D

Also, up here in Wisconsin that's nothing, especially when the wind gets going. I do see how you would find it odd, though.

Not a lot of snow this year so far, either. Only one snowfall that I can remember and it melted right away. By now we usually have snow on the ground for good. I'm not complaining though. :)

Is it difficult for anyone else to get into the "Christmas Spirit" at WDW or Florida in general when it's almost or above 80 degrees outside?! Bums me out a little... :-(

When you live in Louisiana, you are used to warm weather and humidity. Besides, I think Disney is wonderful any time of year, any season of the year. Happy Disney everyone!!!
